What I don't buy is the coaches didn't know. That is about the dumbest thing I've ever heard. With all the GA's, assistants, training staff no one saw the team boxing all summer? Gtfoh! I'm sure it was unauthorized, but to suggest they weren't aware they were doing it when the injury happened in the locker room is stupid.

This concerns me more than the Rod Taylor shoulder. Is this normal or are there issues within the team?
I think you're reading that line too closely

No kidding. Talk about unnecessary worrying...

The season needs to get here. Badly. It's affecting Henry.

Where were the adults/ team captains? Why wasn't lequon saying what the frick are you doing?

First rule of fight club is no talking about fight club.

They were just horsing around in the lockerroom and a freak accident occurred. You know what? shite happens.
People are freaking out about this and are trying blame someone over nothing. It hurt a little in the short term, but Taylor will not miss any significant time for this. They've been doing it all summer.
Everyone just needs to chill the frick out.

The coaches definitely knew about it and didn't make it clear to the players that they weren't allow to box, especially in a locker room which is dumb.
Nobody on that video looked like they weren't allowed to be there doing what they were doing. They were snapchatting and instagramming for fricks sake

Freeze not so subtely stated in the preseason presser they had some chemistry issues last year, especially towards the end of the season.
McCready has referenced it as well. I don't think it's a big deal or anything but I think their on-team leadership failed last year when adversity hit.
Posted on 8/14/15 at 9:29 am to Billy Mays
Maybe if Freeze wasn't a fake Christian we wouldn't have these teamwork issues . . .
Posted on 8/14/15 at 9:29 am to Billy Mays
I don't think Freeze meant it as a lack of team chemistry (as in they don't get along with each other), but more along the lines of banding together when injuries/adversity occurs. Leadership, so to speak
quote:
On how chemistry could have helped late last year in dealing with adversity...
"We can't control the injuries that we have that affect our team. I do think our depth is better this year than it's ever been since we've been here, but I go back and I look at myself and everything that went into the end of the year, and I certainly learned some things I would do differently. The chemistry was good, but handling adversity, you've got to have people in that locker room that make a difference when those times happen. We're going to try to do some things throughout this fall camp that prepares a leadership group to be ready for some of those, but real life is that at some point in this life, they'll be hit with adversity. I will, you will. If we live long enough, all of us will, and we're not exempt to that, but how we handle it, certainly we need to be preparing for those moments."

shite does happen, but boxing is something that doesn't need to happen 3 weeks before the season. I've seen people compare this to a car wreck - for the most part you need to drive a car to live. Nobody needs to fricking box to live. Why did the players feel like that was acceptable to box in the first place in a locker room?

I don't think assessing blame is worth it bc that is irrelevant at this point bc the damage is already done. Personally, IDGAF who takes the blame. But the whole situation is so dumb and unnecessary, and most importantly harmful to our worst position group - it should make fans angry and want to vent about it. I don't want to relive the TCU game again where our OL couldn't block air.

There's no way to predict how he handles the pain thresholds of a torn labrum and whether or not it will affect him on the field. I agree he should be able to play through it, but I'd feel a lot better if he was 100% healthy, which he won't be the entire season most likely.

This is our most stacked roster in the modern era, I think it's reasonable to not want our players wildly brawling in a locker room 3 weeks before the season. Is that too much to ask?

I'm not sure that a few players sparring in the lockerroom after practice equates to "wildly brawling".
They are always dancing in the lockerroom too. Guess we need to get rid of that too before someone sprains an ankle
The players have been boxing all summer for fun and conditioning. I guess it's a miracle that half the team doesn't have torn labrums

You haven't seen all the snapchats if you think it was all just sparring. If they didn't have gloves on you wouldn't know it was all in fun.

When I think "boxing" I think a ring, referees, jabs, headgear, etc.
This was basically wildly swinging and running at each other with gloves on in a locker room. It just looks bad.

Bruh, I'm not a mouth-breather/tard and I know you aren't either, you don't need to make this argument. We are all reasonable posters here.
