Lets try and find some to make the day better.

First thing I noticed when breaking down the class, we took a small number of kids. 20 will qualify. 21 if we land Murchison. All in all this is a plus given our future penalties. The negative of this is some might feel that a few of these kids were not warranted a scholarship, so while 20 is a small number, the number could have been less. IMO the kids who would not get a scholarship no matter how large our class is...

1. Faniel- No way this kid is a SEC QB. I understand we had to take a HS QB and QB's transfer out more than any other posistion so he wont be dead weight for long.

2. Woullard-he was obviously a late take after learning more about Richardson. Any other class we would not have taken him. On the upside, he loves OM, is a very good student, and has elite speed and quickness. RB's make great position changers, so he could possibly have a DB future, but more than likely he wont.

3. Sincere- The dudes name is Sincere. I shouldnt have to say anything else, but we signed only one DT last class and we can at least cut him if he's not up to snuff by the time he's a RS Sophomore, which is when we will need DT's given Speaks, Benito, Herb, and Ross will be gone leaving us with only Coetney and Robinson.

4. Paxton- If we are really WRU, you dont take kids like this. On the upside, he has a 27 ACT and we will need bodies for the 2019 season because of the chances that at least two players out of AJ, DK, and Van leave early. As I'll say multiple times, these scholarships are not 4 years long. If we dont need him and we can push him out we will. But if he's a hard worker, good grades, and teammate having him isnt the worst thing in the world. Still, would not be in any other class, but maybe his grades will help us like State get to the dollar general bowl.

5. CJ Miller- I really like his film, but the USC drop and only being recruited by non power 5 schools sends up a red flag. I have heard he hasnt taken his ACT which is why so many stayed away. It is believable because his film is good, but why hasnt a 17 year old taken his ACT if his goal is to play in college? Not a great sign.

I think we addressed a big need at LB and think that players like Williams, Breon, and Sanogo can add immediate help, while players like Clark and Baker have great upsides. Looking at that group coupled with the secondary we brought in last year, I think our back 7 is very promising in the future.

We hit a couple good gets on the DL last year but we have got to kill it next year on the DL to avoid holes in the future. We brought in the best offensive class in the nation last year and if we can bring in an elite DL class next year and regain our momentum in recruiting top 15 classes consistently, we will be back on track talent wise.

We will be very salty without many weaknesses in '18. '19 can be very promising if we can land a QB to follow Shea, 2-3 great WR's, and 2-3 great DL. Thats our goal next year. Hit those targets and we can have consistent, great seasons in '18 and '19 similar to '14 and '15 and then hopefully build off that success like we were suppose to do before we got butt fricked.

You cant win championships unless you consistently recruit top 10 classes. We've proven we can from time to time, but I believe 5 top 15 classes in a row give you enough talent to win enough games to build the program up to a level that can recruit top 10 every year. Winning cures everything and if we can put this NCAA crap behind us, land a great QB, couple great WR's, and a couple great DL next year we will be back on track to win at a high level.

Theres my silver lining.

Great thread well said.

Alex faniel is just too slow. No way he ever develops I think we just felt bad he was committed for so long. Smh
The 2 wrs we took we don't even really need if they aren't elite or top 40 wrs just hold off. It's like we had to pad Jacob peelers stats.. Meanwhile Rj Sneed went to Baylor and couldn't even get the TN commit from the coast.
Shouldn't have taken any wide receivers

I don't get sincere I guess when Murchison told them he was going to Georgia they panicked.. And now LOL at Murchison

The more I watch josh Clarkes film the more I think he will be a bust, seems lazy and takes plays off. The entire USA Canada game he was just loafing around. SEC football gonna light him up.

Whats with all the pity party bs? Should we have just sat this year out and taken no one? They are bodies that can hopefully catch, block, run, and tackle.

We needed those last year after the plague took over.

I know I already said it when Ole Miss offered Baker, but this dude really is a classic muffin-level diamond. if he works for it and gets coached up he's going to the nfl. My friend who writes for the area has been to the dome the last 12 years and knows talent. he's been trying to tell me LSU would be fools to not offer this kid.

also his profile is poorly updated. ULL was not his only offer (obviously). on top of that I don't even know where the hell Mooringsport is, or if it even exists
