Was thinking about staying walking distance from the Georgia Dome...anyone find any good deals yet on hotels? <$150 a night? I found a few.

When do student tix go on-sale? Would it be better to buy them through the University or try Stub Hub?

Buy student tickets throught the University. StubHub tickets are outrageous right now.

I've got hotel at DoubleTree and Omni. Used my Hilton points for night of 30th and then realized they were totally booked for New Year's Eve and booked for Omni then.

Omni was where the players stayed back in August. Right next to CNN. Short walk to stadium.

You could save some dough and stay outside of downtown and just take MARTA.

Which you may have to do. You don't wanna know what the avg hotel costs on NYE... if they have availability.

It's the mass transit light rail. The dome is a stop.

It's a train and bus system in Atlanta that leads to a lot of robberies, murders and mixed tapes sold. It can work from time to time though.

MARTA rail from stadium to Buckhead pretty legit. I'm not sure about the bus stops though...

As long as you stay on the North South Line you will be OK. The East West Line can get kinda sketchy.

Unless you have an irrational fear of gay men.

As a resident of atlanta for 18 years if I were to stay somewhere it would be around Lenox mall. You can hop on Marta to the game and be around all the bars you want to actually go to.

As long as they don't try to redecorate anything, I'll be fine.

I highly recommend eating breakfast or late night at R Thomas since you're staying in midtown.

I'll have to check this out. Is MARTA a good option or should I be expecting to drive if I get a hotel out by the mall?
