I've always stayed w family in BR for our games down there but have some friends this year who are staying in Nola and looking to catch a bus to BR that Saturday for the game. Aren't there charter buses that go from Nola to BR on game days ? Anyone done this? Know how to go about getting a spot or anything? Thanks y'all

I've heard it's usually like $5 on a Hotard, but it could be different since it's a gameday. Personally, it sounds like a hit or miss. You'll either get across the bridge in 45 minutes or 3 hours, there is no in between. Staying in Nola sounds like fun for a friday before a game though.

If the alumni hotel is in Nola there will certainly be a bus or four. I'm not sure where it will be though.

I saw a hotel list awhile back, I'll try and find it.

Eta: There are two alumni hotels for that game. Double Tree in Nola with a bus for $30 a person and the Marriott in Red Stick.

Also, if the whole Nola thing doesn't work out, stay in downtown BR (in the good parts). I've never went out there, but cbi8 does every now and then and he says it's a great time. Plus, the restaurants in downtown are phenomenal. Not to mention, it's a very short drive to the stadium.

Yeah, I told them about some of the places I've been out to downtown and some of the restaraunts, namely tsunami, but they are going the Nola route. Thanks again though

Not sure about from New Orleans, but the Chimes runs a bus from their location in Covington for all of the home games. It's a fixed price including in-route drinks / jello shots. Had some family members do it. They had a blast. Think it was around $50 per head 2 years ago.

Your best bet would probably be to check with the Ole Miss alumni association and see if they're organizing any charter buses.

When's the last time you were in downtown Baton Rouge?

It's one of the nicest areas of the city now. Every time I'm there there is a new development.

Yeah, there's a couple of nice hotels downtown. The Indigo Hotel is an excellent choice.

However, if I were a visiting fan, I would do everything I can to stay in NOLA for the game. Our night life is just really weak compared to our peers. Plenty of great restaurants in either city, so you can't go wrong there. The only problem with Baton Rouge's dining scene is that it's so spread out. There's no high concentration of good restaurants other than Perkins Road

Looking forward to the game, as always. My place will be full of rebs. Ole Miss and Bama always bring the two best crowds; no surprise with all of the Louisiana ties for both schools

It's definitely better to stay in New Orleans if you can, but logistics of getting to the game can be a bitch.

Good news is, Uber launched in BR last week and Lyft is launching this week, so there will be plenty of cars for hire.
