I thought they played incredible against what was supposed to be the best front in the conference -- and obviously without Tunsil. Herbie kept running the timer on CK talking about how he was getting the ball out in 2 seconds. The implication is that we couldn't build a pocket around him, so he had get it out quick. That's great and everything. But that's not what I saw, to my untrained eye. This is how I remember it:

1) Several times they built and maintained a great pocket for Kelly. Bama had a hard time getting pressure, and only two sacks, both on successive plays in the 4th.

2) Kelly actually looked better on the snap plays where he was getting the ball out on a timer. I seem to remember that when he had time to set up and work his progressions, he threw his worst balls of the night.

3) The OL held its own on run blocking. Even on the very last possession, when we were trying to ice the game, and everyone knew were were gonna run, Walton got 5 yards on 2nd down and 4.999 yards on third down. Bama barely stopped us.

And I'm pretty sure these happened without Conyers or Still in.

That says a lot about how important they are, especially Conyers, to the interior of our line.

I thought it was conyers? DE ran a stunt and conyers couldn't get back to the left side of the gap quick enough. Just barely couldn't get a piece of him.

That's possible. I thought he had gone out for a moment due to his knee.

Reeeeaaally hope he rehabs it really well over the next couple weeks. We absolutely need him as our starting center. He's a damn beast.

Good job last night, Coach Luke. Looks like you're finally earning your paycheck.

Proud of these guys. You are starting to see what more talent does on that front. My guys are finally playing. Cooper, Sims, Rawlings, Conyers, Taylor, Patterson these are my guys. They will only get better.

You guys can jab at him, but he's not wrong here.

Ryan Buchanan should never see the field as long as Kelly is healthy. He threw that fricking 2-pt conversion pass at Rob's ankles.

Thought the OL looked good against a great front. I think they will improve each week and I no longer put them at the top of the list of biggest worry
