I am only down to firing Freeze prior to the COI meeting if administration can use it negotiate with the NCAA and lessen the overall impact to the program. The reason I say this is it almost seems to me like the NCAA is gunning for his head anyway so use it.

Why can't we just keep all these guys on staff and then use this as a way to bring attention to the bullshite that is the NCAA? Do a big press conference where ross and freeze outline how much money the schools, conferences and the NCAA are making off these kids. Then frame our allegations like that to the public and paint the NCAA as the bad guys. Say yes we broke the rules but the rules the NCAA had in place are unfair to athletes who make all this money for everyone but them etc.

You can bet your arse the NCAA doesn't want that because that would nuke their image to the casual observer. Now that the ncaa is no longer investigating we should do it and just bring them down with us. Maybe that will be enough to change the conversation enough to put a committee or college football czar above the NCAA to make sure shite like this can't happen again.

I don't have a problem with this. I wonder if down the road a recruit and his fam is going to want the kid to go play there when theres a history of cheating/sanctions.

I don't get all the crying and blaming everyone else for our current problems. We took a risk and got caught. I don't have a problem with it as far as what the coaches did. I do have a problem with what the boosters have done if they did this stupid shite w/o the staffs knowledge

I'm so happy people on this board are knowledgeable when it comes to this shite. I was a member of a ole miss fb page and they kicked me out for saying fire freeze. Everyone we're by him he's innocent.

Whats the best case scenario? We are good again in 8 years?

The best case scenario is that the NCAA accepts our self imposed penalties. I highly doubt that happens. That being the case we can get back in a bowl game. It's probably going to be a multi year bowl ban which would kill our program for at least the next 5-10 years if not more.

How exactly would a two year bowl ban set us back for that long?

It lets Kids transfer freely. That's what would kill our program.

The best 12-15 players on the team would transfer and be eligible to play immediately somewhere else. That is basically the Death Penalty. We would be the next SMU.

Perception. It also kills any hope at a recruiting class this coming year which would mean two straight years of trash arse recruiting. That is not a winning formula. You then add in the scholarship reductions in future years and you are easily looking at 6 to 8 years before we anywhere near resemble what we've been. Look at USC. That program is just getting back.

What I'd like for people to realize is we have some of the better facilities in the country, and the ability to pay a top ten salary. We have now shown the ability to be able to recruit. Fire this clown sloppy arsenal administration and get a staff built to take the next step.

And no I don't want LSU washed up coach that no one else wants.

Nobody knows what the impact of this will be before we actually know what the penalties are. Just using a worse case scenario, something like a 3 year bowl ban, and 30 scholarships over 3 years it would basically cripple us for 4-5 years. And comparing us to SMU, during that span, might actually be about right because we'd better than those SMU teams in reality, but then SMU doesn't play in the SEC West. Of course playing in the West could help offset some of the penalties. And.... I'm back to who knows.

You should do a Lane Kiffin interim HC strategy with Freeze, let him serve out the bowl ban then fire him when the job is actually attractive again.

Who here really cares at this point? Show's over, folks. Best to let this play out and not stress over it. It is what it is. I just feel sorry for anyone who has donated to our shitshow of a program. The upside here is that they can't strip us of anything

Maybe the cost of season tickets will dip. The Grove and the Square will be back to early 2000's crowded. Easier to find a hotel room on game weekends. VRBO houses will be cheaper.

I don't know how they are going to justify the 175 for student season tickets

I made the best life decision that has helped
With football.

I have a 19 month old. I am so beyond tired at all times that football turned from a "obsess and check OM football non stop" to "just tune into OM football on saturdays"

So do it guys. Just go out and have kids. It will solve all your OM woes lol

Its all fun and games until they become teenagers. One day you know everything and they won't leave you alone. Then suddenly you don't know jack shite and they'll barely acknowledge you in public unless of course they need money
