Yancy came on the Spirit this morning urging posters to read and digest it before melting basically. What are your thoughts on what is actually in there
Posted on 5/27/16 at 9:04 am to TrueReb13
My melt has already begun. No idea what to expect.
Posted on 5/27/16 at 9:04 am to TrueReb13
Well that's not encouraging.

Do they release the response for all three sports at once?

So from what I've seen:
Self imposed penalties for football:
- Disassociation with an organization and four people for three years
- Rules education
- Recruiting suspension for two assistant coaches
- Reduction in schollys and in state aid
- Reductions in OVs and etc
- Monetary fine of about $160k
Overall: 3 year probation
Is there anything else that's I've missed yet?

That's what I've seen, but I haven't read the below. Did they announce the below?
Self imposed penalties for football:
- Disassociation with an organization and four people for three years - Sucks for them but I don't care
- Rules education okay
- Recruiting suspension for two assistant coaches Who are the coaches, how long, and to what extent?
- Reduction in schollys and in state aid What is the number reduction?
- Reductions in OVs and etc Shouldn't matter too much as long as it isn't a huge number. Coaches will just get to focus more on the ones that are there
- Monetary fine of about $160k who cares.. we've paid more for backup kickers

So, to boil it down, we get "probabtion status" over 3 years = keep yourselves clean.
We get 3 schollys reduction each year for 3 years. Hopefully, this year counted as year 1.
Some coaches have to attend some training and minor personal wrist slaps.
So.... we are fine.
Play ball!

You can't commit any NCAA violations during that period (I'm not sure if it's limited to non-secondary or any violation) or they'll really frick you running.

Couldn't be secondary, those happen all the time.

For those that don't want to read to fluff...
From RCR:

Someone from the Ole Miss video department allegedly filmed recruits wearing Ole Miss gear in the IPF, then showed that video to the recruits and their parents. Level III
Former Houston Nutt assistants David Saunders and Chris Vaughn allegedly helped rig ACT results for three recruits in 2010. Level I

So basically, they found less stuff than they would if they did the same investigation at any other program in the country.
Posted on 5/27/16 at 11:36 am to POCKET
Reading the NOA, I would have to imagine Maurice Harris and Chris Kiffin would be the one's suspended.
Posted on 5/27/16 at 11:37 am to Landmass
Yeah its bullshite...
So do the scholarship reductions we have already self imposed help with the nine or do we lose 9 more anyways?

Auburn had this happen with the Cam investigation and nothing was found.
If you get caught on small shite, either the school needs better compliance to cover tracks or they can't prove bigger things so nail you on the small

If these self imposed sanctions are accepted, it really isn't that bad. If you make it out of probation period it will have no long term impact

I don't know. The proposed punishment is the suspension of two coaches though.
This scares me. I wonder if we have to forfeit some games.
