I don't mean to posi-melt, but...
-We just signed the #1 QB in the nation
-We just signed the #1 OT in the nation
-We more than likely just signed the best OL/WR class in the nation, probably the best in OUR history
-We just signed a star-studded TE group (Cooley will be a FREAK) and Mathis can always player LBer
- Our RB was EXTREMELY underrated and had the likes of BAMA, Arky, and A&M coming after him hard; best we have signed in a while
-Benito Jones is easily a Top 5 DT and will be a GREAT one, i can promise you that
- We signed a "freak" that can rush off the end to create tons of pressure on the QB, I also think Tis ends up at DE, and he's long and athletic
- We signed two good LB's, one EE in Donte Evans, Mathis could move here, and then you could probably factor in Street eventually here if PT at RB is hard to come by *GENARD AVERY*
- Deontay Anderson was arguable a Top 3 safety, and he will be paired with a great DBfield of Jaylon Jones, Hartsfield, Connor, Eisworth

Guy's it's going to be Ok. R-E-L-A-X. We just signed the best class in the history of our program and we have other great freshman and sophomores that haven't even played yet! The sky is the limit!

If Patterson and Little sign today we would have been ecstatic. If you have a great QB you have a shot at the Nat'l Championship...especially with all the other playmakers we have!

(I apologize for reposting from recruiting board, sue me)

People that are getting upset over Simmons need to shut the frick up. We signed a top 5 class. Stop being morons and getting upset because we didn't sign one player.

The more I learn about how Simmons played us, the more sure I am that he and Muffin deserve each other.

I agree with everything you said except this:

We have no idea is Mathis or Street will end up being good LBs, transitioning may be difficult for them.

I don't think anyone is melting about the class, I think they are melting about actual signing day. I personally am really bothered about the misses on LB and CB. But I absolutely love this class.

Look Simmons was a 5 star that was an Ole Miss lean for 2 years...and he dumped us at the end. That is going to hurt. HOWEVER...that does not take away from where this program has risen to. It was just a few years ago that I watched us win 2 games in a season and saying this is the worst team in SEC history. (I still say that).

This class rocks...and our future is very bright. Yes...little doubt that Simmons PLAYED us...and I have no doubt that Mullen directed him to play us (Jones, Lewis and now SImmons) all have that in common. But hey.... He has got to play for Mississippi State now...so who really lost here?

I haven't melted but we sure could have used a linebacker and another corner.

Anyone ordered 2017 playoff tickets yet?

I tell ya, the second Simmons walked out in that suite, I wondered how he'd fit in in Oxford. It looked so Starkghanistan. But anyways, no hard feelings. Can't win 'em all.

How? With all the talent we have across the board, how is losing one recruit going to hurt us?

Fill us in brother....I have to say if he played the long con so well that he had Ole Miss and Bama bamboozled he is an excellent grifter/grinder

He is insanely talented, not having him on our d-line will be a loss.

I'm more bummed about Shyheim Carter and Luafatasaga

I will admit that I have been disappointed with our LB recruiting but this is an observation from a HS coach that has seen Tisdale in person at camps:

quote:

"As far as needs go, our biggest need was LB. We missed on several, however, Tariquious Tisdale, if he doesn't blow up in the weight room, will be our MLB of the future. I watched him at several camps I took some of my guys to. He could be a 1st round pick at LB in the future."

Luafatasaga is an utter mystery. I've heard he's something of a homebody, but I don't get why he'd commit to us in the first place if that was the case. Love the class, but definitely unpleasantly surprised by how today played out. At least we got the best MS receiver since Moncrief right out of Muffin's back yard. I'll remember that far longer than I'll remember the Chris Joneses, Leo Lewises, and Jeffrey Simmonses of the state.

Simmons

I was uneasy with his quotes after the Official. He said something like, "It's Mississippi - it feels like home." He didn't mention Ole Miss or the University of Mississippi - he just said "Mississippi".

The only retribution I want is for him to take a "Mississippi" arse-whipping in the Egg Bowl every November.

Teams with 3 of the 247 Top 25: Bama, Georgia and Ole Miss.

SoCal and LSU got 2 apiece.

I'm confused, did he mean, if he does or doesn't blow up in the weight room he will be a MLB

I'm sure that means if he doesn't turn into a DE

If he blows up in the weight room he will probably turn in to a SDE. But if he stays around his same size then he will be a MLB
