I foolishly believed Ole Miss Athletic Director Ross Bjork back in late January when he clearly insinuated that the roughly 30 violations the NCAA found were mainly in regards to women’s basketball, track and field and football with the old coaching staff as well as the Laremy Tunsil, situation which many felt was previously addressed with his seven-game 2015 suspension. Now we come to find out 13 of the roughly 30 violations occurred in football and only four were under Freeze’s predecessor, Houston Nutt. Only three of those remaining 10 involved loans of cash and cars and improper payments and free lodging in regards to Tunsil and his family, which means this is much more than just a Tunsil issue and certainly wasn’t all about women’s hoops, track and field and Nutt.
Does this dude not understand that 17 of 30 is the majority.
13 of 30 is not the majority. He feels lied to ... Sorry his comprehension level or math statistics skills are shite.
frick him.
Obviously they don't feel they need the ms region at Rivals so stop clicking and stop paying subscriptions. Dumb on his part hes the head recruiting director at Rivals.. Frequently on the rebel podcast and helps compile the rankings.
And then he somehow tries to justify having Trey so low...

The Ole Miss stuff? I don't blame him for being upset with our staff and administration. They clearly told everyone who would listen that most of the stuff was going to be from the Nutt era. There's a ton of people all over the country that were reporting the same thing. They've all said they were lied to.
I get that most of the "major" stuff was from Nutt but that's not what was reported.

Mike is one of the national writers for Rivals but not Neal or Chase' boss. For the record they both disagree with what he said. Also said it hurts them more than it hurts Rivals as a whole.

We also weren't paying players for pay. I see your point but he took an overly aggressive stance on this one.

It understandably will hurt them.
Tough for them maybe they should have a word with him next time they bring him on their podcast.
He only addresse the fact that he was told the majority weren't football.... And they were not.
Sorry your feelings were hurt bro. How about you stick to scouting recruits and not worry about schools.

Not sure why anybody gets upset over what someone writes. It's an opinion piece based on his experience. He's still really good at his job.
Posted on 6/9/16 at 8:25 pm to UMRealist
I get upset because recruits and parents read this crap and form an opinion based off it. That's the only reason.
Posted on 6/9/16 at 8:27 pm to OMReb21
He's hardly the only person to write it. Not like it was a hot take.

You're a college football writer on a recruiting website and you deal directly with recruits. Be more informed on information at least before you go spew some BS.

Other than Tunsil/previous staff stuff, there are 3 allegations...
1. Tunsil loaner
2. Failure to monitor the Tunsil loaner situation
3. $800 Tunsil's stepdad
4. Free lodging for Tunsil's stepdad and mom
5. Tunsil slept at Kiffin's place for 2 nights
6. Free meals and lodging for Tunsil's family
7. Kiffin impermissible 10-minute conversation with croots (Level 3)
8. Prior season ticket holder provided benefits to a few croots (Level 1)
9. Video department filmed some croots (Level 3)
10-13. Remaining 4 are Saunders/Vaughn/Nutt stuff

Wow correct me if I am wrong but it sure seems like this journalist likes to toss around numbers like an ED poster without really analyzing anything. If you look at the 8 level 1 violations that supposedly fall on Freeze, 2 are for former employees that lied to the NCAA after they were employed elsewhere. I can't believe the NCAA can lay the actions of former employees years after they left the University let alone on Freeze. So that knocks off 25% of those major violations. Then throw in the FCA issue which people are trying to spin as some sinister attempt to use him as a way to sway recruits when it quite likely was a big mistake....a mistake that Ole Miss reported and asked the guy to stop. Yet he refused because he believed he was doing the right thing even though it got the University in even more trouble. So that leaves 5 violations which had nothing really do with the staff nor did they involve "pay for play" nor "pay to not visit". So should Ole Miss receive sanctions based off these violations. Yes they should but based off the precedents cited in the NOA response they aren't a institutional condoned cheating on a massive level that some want to believe. Now the outcome of all this will hinge what comes out of the Tunsil draft SNAFU. Until then I am afraid the University will have to endure a bunch of public ridicule by supposed journalist that really haven't taken the time to research the subject thoroughly.

This thread is about as ED as you can get. There is actually a thread on there complaining about this guy for different reasons.

How is discussing OM's own allegations and media coverage on an OM sports board ED? If we were discussing Simmons, it'd be a different story.

Really confused how discussing the media perception, or dare I say distortion, of the Ole Miss NOA anything like ED? If that was the case wouldn't we be throwing around wild accusation of institutional level cheating, calling your HC a fake scientologist and using racist terms about State players?
