Yeah, he's a horrible positions coach and coordinator. Just glance at LSU's special teams while he was here. Peveto did his best to mask his shortcomings by basically living out of a suitcase and recruiting.

He does recruit Texas well, but I'm genuinely curious to see if his recruiting success was because of LSU or if he's dale carnegie jr

No offense, but we're not taking coaching advice from LSU. And Peveto will be replacing Batoon as ST coach and Wommack doing double duty as DC and LB coach, neither of whom could recruit. The bar is low at this position coach slot.

None taken. Bradley Peveto is a total moron. Every thing he touches goes to shite, so I'm perfectly fine with someone taking him

And for the record, I understand the painful irony that I'm laughing at any other school's hire my profile pic is 100% sarcasm. LSU is likely fricked, just expressing my hate for Bradley Peveto

He's recruited well at other places, too. Was it easier for him to recruit to LSU than most other programs? Yes. But he's a good recruiter anywhere he goes. Now as a coach ... We'll see

To be fair, If he can get division 1 level linebackers to campus he is immediately a better LB coach than anyone since freeze got here.

Can we hire Sonny Dykes as OC and move Longo to WR coach now?

If anything it would help us with scouting for next season's trip to Cal.

If anything we should fire Freeze after signing day and bring in Dykes as HC

I feel like Trooper has waaaaaay too much NCAA baggage for the administration to give Freeze the okay on hiring.

I have no idea what some of you guys are talking about. Move Longo to WR coach and hire Dykes? Really?

Longo was FCS OC of the year. The guy is a good coach.

Nothing against Longo, but Dykes has proven that his offenses can score points on power 5 level defenses.

Longo can't say that.

There are several coaches that come from the FCS level and do well. It's not like FCS isn't playing football. It's football. He isn't playing with FCS players. The offense will be fine.

Not that I wouldn't mind Freeze moving longo to another position. I don't think he could. Honestly I would have never hired longo in the first place, but that's me. I just think with the state that the team is in we needed a more proven coach.

Why? Werner was a proven coach. A Hugh Freeze team is never going to have issues scoring. He made the best hire for his scheme. Fans are taking that one game and equating the man as a failure before he even touches a game.

This is false.

Also, you are telling me that you wouldn't rather have Lubick as OC?

No one is equating Longo to a failure. All we are saying that we would've preferred a safer hire. Dykes would've been a safer hire. Lubick would've been a safer hire. I wanted someone who had experience calling plays and scoring points at the D-1 level.

Whether you like it or not, there is going to be a learning curve for Longo coming from the FCS level.

He was hired to be a co-Oc at a school w/ a offensive guy as head coach. I'm not sure Lubick is the experienced play-caller everyone thinks. His one year at Oregon was pretty bad and we threw for a lot more yards w/ Werner calling plays. Side note: what happened to Patterson? Great A&M game and then the suck.
