I really hate the early start time but oh well. Our group will have our own setup somewhere (I think in '11 we were in a parking lot kinda near the baseball field?) but I'd like to mingle in the grove a bit too. I know the rules are fairly strict and putting drinks in a cup is the safe route, if I have an open beer in a koozie is that ok or is it cups only?

I'd love to swing by some of yalls setups and hang out if anyone is game.

I personally wouldn't go the beer can in a koozie route. Yeti style cup is what I recommend.

Last weekend I seen people walking with beers in hand and cases of beer wide open and nothing was said to them.

Yep, cold beer in a Yeti, where it will stay cold, is the only way to go.

Wut up fam.

NO KOOZIES. CUPS ONLY. Use styrofoam cups, as they keep your cold drinks colder, longer.

You can come by our tent if you want.

There will be whiskey and beer for you and mimosas for your ladies.

I'll take you up on that for sure. Should I just check back to the thread Saturday or you wanna exchange emails?

I'll stick to beer though. I'm old enough now to know my limits and me and whiskey don't really get along well on gamedays lol.

I will be at a few tents with a bunch of rabid dawg fans. TV, cold chicken tenders, the works.

Thanks for the recommendations on the yeti style cups gents. I will be stopping at wal mart at lunch.

Some one got a parking pass for sale? #askingforafriend #noseriouslyIneedone

Been a bit since I drove from ATL to Oxford.

Is there any place to eat off of 22 now?

We're staying tomorrow night in tupelo and then on saturday just driving straight home after the game. Anything we need to visit in tupelo? I don't think I've ever been before. I know they have gambling right? We're staying at some dingy motel so ideally we could find at least a bar or something to pass the time tomorrow. I think we'll be arriving about 5 or so central time.

Oh also how early can you buy beer in MS, and aren't there some places there still dry? Do we need to buy tomorrow to be safe?

You should be able to buy beer at any time in Tupelo, from a convenience store that is.

No liquor store in the state is allowed to operate before 10:00 AM.

Tupelo doesn't have gambling. You're thinking of Tunica.

Buy it in Tupelo. The county between Lee (Tupelo) and Lafayette (Oxford) Counties, Pontotoc County, is completely dry because booze is the DEBIL!

I'd be careful. Tupelo is one of the rough spots in Mississippi hence the race riots there recently. I'd recommend getting a hotel room in one of the more developed communities on the outskirts of Tupelo such as Guntown or Baldwyn.

So are you saying there's no beer for sale in oxford?

We will definitely buy it tomorrow in tupelo and bring with just to be safe. We plan to get to campus no later than 7am Saturday, probably closer to 6:30.

Of course there is beer in Oxford.

I thought you just wanted to buy it early.

Couldn't agree more. Guntown is the shining light of hope in the abyss that is Lee County.

WG Dawg, ever been to Wet Dawg Water Land? Are you interested in water parks?

There is none better than Wet Dawg's Water Land.

In 06 and 11 we've gotten to campus around daylight, but we always go straight to a lot and setup to start tailgating. I know time is an issue with the noon kick, but is there anywhere a visitor should see as we come in before we get settled? Any points of interest on campus or things we can drive by and take a look at. I know the baseball stadium is one but we park near there.

Also TA, is there any food at your tent?

I'd get beer the night before because the one gas station in Tupelo that I called states they don't sell beer until 7:00 AM.

You could always buy in Ox baw.

Probably some, yeah, for sure.
