Look at our QB situation with Chad and Shea. Build around them in more of a pro scheme and get rid of this spread. And maybe bring in a top OC to run it. This would help with our run game too, I think. And recruiting if we're bringing in 4* and 5* croots thinking NFL.

So now we need to change the offense...

Do some of you guys even think about what you are saying?

Yes we do....not scrap it completely but maybe blend it more with some pro-style elements....if you don't think it needs tweaking then I don't know what to tell you

Why would you go pro-style? You realize our spread scheme is what's attracting all of these WR recruits right?

The problem is not the spread. We have some poor concepts in the spread, but the spread is not the issue.

Yes but Hugh has yet to date had a WR go over 1,000 yards. We can't run the ball and you can't win big having that Achilles heel....as well I said blend not do away with the spread

Jim said (thin summary)
1) Our offense lacks the 3-5 step drops that QB's have to make in the NFL

2) We run too many bubble screens

3) We under utilize our WR's with our route selections (he believes we should have a more vertical offense) ..........but obviously that's an issue with our current blocking

4) He said that he wouldn't have chosen the offense that we run but it's successful for us

The sky is not falling but there's always room for improvement to prevent past failures....there's a difference from doing a think tank session and a melt....

We don't have the offensive line for that, Jim

They work well in short yardage situations, Jim

Our shitty offensive line prevents that, Jim

Stick to being a 4 time Super Bowl loser and let the coaches coach, Jim.

Wow! Might as well hire Bert. Our oline is the problem not the scheme. This is a dumb idea.

He's an old school pro-style offense QB. He likely hates spread offenses because it's not what he ran when he played.

Our offense is fine until we are 10 yards out....I think the blend should be implemented as a goal line package....but with regular starters...because against better competition we need to be more efficient in the red zone

The offense Kelly ran at Buffalo was ahead of its time and had some modern concepts. I'm with him on maybe too many bubble screens, but if you listened he didn't say that "schematically they're bad" he said "Chad has a big arm and can throw other things", an uncle talking about his nephew.

Dude talking down to Jim Kelly makes you seem like a chode. He's pissed that the offense doesn't prepare Chad for what he will be running in the NFL. I'll take his opinion over a message board champion.
