Seems about right. I would put it between 7-10, so this should get action both ways. Tough to pick us on the road with a new LT

I will make a large wager on us getting 8.5
That line will move to 7 or 6.5 by game time that's a great line to jump on now before its too late

It's neutral if you live in Miami.

Yeah, in the same way LSU in the superdome is a neutral site game

Barring catastrophe, this would be a great line to jump on, but I'd wait until July at least haha. You never know what the wise guys know.

Yeah, it's uncanny how well these guys pick games. Wonder what there overall success rate is.
Sort of like 538 and Nate.

I get the fact we are the "dog" in this game but I keep hearing the talking heads bring up some shite and realize they don't know what they are really talking about:
1). "Ole Miss looses all 5 OL that started the bowl game"....yes we did but the fact of the matter is our best center and guards return. Bell & Morris started the bowl game because they were seniors. Plus Rawlings had 7 starts at RT last year. If they have a serviceable LT and Conyers comes back from injury we should have an OL as good if not better than what we fielded against Bama last year.
2). "Lost top RB and two best WRs"....yes but once again did they watch our RBs down the stretch last year. I would submit that Judd & Wilkins had surpassed Walton by year's end...as for our WRs, in Swag I trust. Him throwing to a stacked WR corps and Engram should not be seen as a liability.
3). "Lost half of the DL rotation and replace the LBs"....first our LBs got much better when Gates was inserted into the line-up after Denzel did his thing. Add in a grad transfer with P5 experience and I am satisfied that we should be better starting the season than last year. Add in the way Jones & Speaks finished the season along with the return of Gross and AC and my only concerns are is will we stay in man coverage for our CBs and if our Safeties will be able to step in.
Factor in these points and I see us as a legit -3 dog because to call this a "neutral sight" game is laughable at best.

Not to be a negareb, but FSU's DEs will probably give our OTs all they can handle and more. It might be a long day for Kelly and I worry it will turn into another Florida.

Worst case oline
LT Taylor
LG Patterson
C Conyer
RG Sim
RT Rawlings
And that could be a solid line. If Little can take LT and Givens or Liggins can play RT then our line will be awesome.
Our Dline will be the deepest and strongest it has been under Freeze.

I think Givens and Liggins will start at the tackle positions.
Taylor still needs work and even Tunsil didn't start his first two games as a freshman.
So I think the early 2 deep when the season starts will look like this:
Givens / Little
Patterson / Putnam
Rawlings/ Conyers
Sims / Bouldin
Liggins/ Rawlings
Talor will probable be able to rotate in at the guard positions, but I don't think the fall is going to give him enough time to work in at the tackle position. If he can stay healthy he can definitely move into the tackle rotation by mid season giving the Rebels a pretty solid 2 deep across the front.
Howard got a lot of reps in spring. He looks bigger than the 265 lbs they were listing him. He may be able to play this year. If not he for sure will be ready next season.
The offensive line will be one of the best in the country next season.
Little/ Givens/ Newman
Patterson/Bouldin/Tuitt
Rawlings/Johnson/Howard
Sims/Putnam/Defoor
Taylor/ Mathews/ Howard
Only losing Conyers, Liggins and Buys.

I just see Conyers and Rawlings starting the season at the center spot and one tackle. But if Givens and Liggjns are up for the tackle spots tht would be awesome. We defiantly have some options at LT and we just need one to work out.
We also need to figure out our 2 safety spots FS and Rover.

Well we are going to be a little green on the back end, but there should be some speed there.
Hampton, Woods, Linton, the Moore brothers and Anderson will probably be the guys on the back end.
Lots of speed, they just have to be in position to make the plays. I believe it will end up being Hampton and Woods for the first game starters. Linton should be solid and the Moore twins need to step up and show up. Anderson will be playing catch up in the fall, because I don't think he was an early enrollee this spring. He could find some time midway of the season though.
Conner is the Huskie and I saw a lot of Eisworth and Hartsfield there in the spring. I'm hoping they give Street a look at the Huskie position in the fall and see if he can be developed their next year.
It's definitely something to worry about as far as experience, but as far as talent goes we haven't been in better shape. Let's hope this young defense plays like that 2013 defense and gets after some folks and makes some big plays. I'm hoping what they lack in experience is off set by the speed and depth. It would be great to see Conner have an all-american type season in the mix.
This defense could be bone-headed or it could be salty enough to cause alot of damage. We shall see.

hmmmm . . . from tdo.com (Tallahassee Democrat)
"Florida State running back Mario Pender was arrested on two charges, including a third-degree felony, on Saturday and dismissed from the football team.
Pender, 23, was arrested by the Tallahassee Police Department for domestic battery by strangulation and resisting an officer without violence.
His bond was set at $500 ". . . . (read more)

if you replaced that name with Dalvin Cook, I would have liked our chances more. As long as Cook is running the rock... FSU is going to be tough

Funny how FSU treats backups vs stars (Cook and Winston)

The media will be pumping FSU from now until late August. This line could actually increase. Really the only thing holding it back is that Freeze has been such a strong bet over the last few years.
The public remembers...

the line seems a little high, but yes, FSU should and probably will have a little bit of "home field" advantage - would love to be proven wrong on that
this game is one of 2 that I am most looking forward to on opening weekend (Bama v USC is the other)
I agree that the line will dwindle as we get closer to game time
