I think the D cordinator job just got a little bit more apealing since we signed some talent. We need to say Leavitt grab the ginger out of Alabama and lets right the ship.

The administration shot itself in the foot when they handled this NCAA stuff like the French military.

We really missed out on a game-changing hire

Oregon is a higher profile program and offers an easier path to winning (giving Leavitt a better chance for national recognition and a HC opportunity). Someone also said on this board that he wanted to stay out west (no idea on the source or how accurate that is).

You could also argue they have Phil Knight money to outbid people for the coaches they want (though they haven't paid that much to assistants in the past, so who knows).

The point is, if Oregon wanted Leavitt he may have seen that as a better opportunity than OM, regardless of the NCAA.

At this point I'm just ready for 2018 so we can have a brand new coaching staff; hopefully an SEC level one at that.

I doubt that. Also, why didn't we go after Wake's DC? If we are going to hire a New Jersey boy for OC why not this guy Mike Elko?

So wommack, werner, kiffin, batoon, and possibly heard will be gone and we get a FCS OC that crumbled against the only team he played with a pulse and can't even talk a position coach into taking the DC position. Sweet

**also if we are struggling to fill our OC and DC positions when we are willing to pay high dollar, how hard will it be to replace the smaller positions?

I'm sure the NCAA will need people to help with the sting operations over the next 3 years so there's that
