After it is all said and done, I don't see how it can be viewed as a bad thing that hearing only lasted two days. It pains me to think that after 5 years of crippling our program we may get a 2 yr ban. This investigation has been protracted and punitive in itself. I would certainly think with a mountain of evidence it would take longer than 2 days to present. There are actual court cases that may influence the outcome of the NCAA ruling. So I remain cautiously optimistic that we can keep self imposed sanctions and move on.

I view this quite the opposite. The way I picture it:
Ole Miss- (defending this allegation)
NCAA- "no, stays the same"
And over and over again.

As a cynic and curmudgeon I expect the worst. But logically the easiest/least risky option is to rubber stamp the self imposed sanctions and move on.

We will get a 2 year bowl ban

There is no logic when dealing with the NCAA. If you look at about half of these allegations (over a 5 year period) this would be a big nothing burger because school's self report this type of shite all the time. However, because of CHF past experience with these "investigators" and his actions while at Ole Miss they trumped up any an everything they could. Hell they repeatedly violated their own by-laws, used rival reporters to gather information and leaked damaging information. If this was a court of law the Judge would crucify them. But it isn't a court of law and they have stacked the deck to get their preordained outcome......thus we are fricked 5 ways to Friday and twice a day on the weekend!

Wish I could upvote twice. We will be sent back to days playing without helmets and throwing around a real rock for a good period of time.

Winter is coming boys and the long dragon dick of the law is not going to be gentle.

The way I look at it is what more can the NCAA do to us. This program already feels like it has been given the death penalty. I'm prepared for 5+ years of terrible football and a bunch of our talented players transferring. Anything else will be a pleasant surprise.

Here's my thoughts on getting a 2 year bowl ban and transfers:
Shea, AJ, and DK will be juniors next season. I honestly don't think they'll transfer. They will be in their last year playing before declaring for the draft anyway. How much sense would it make for them to all go to New teams, learn new systems with new players for one year and a shot at a bowl game? Scouts don't give a shite what bowl game you play in. Those 3 would be better served to stay in the system they know with each other and the players they're all comfortable with so that they perform their best before going pro.
That's my line of thinking. It makes sense. We'll see.

I think Shea , AJ and DK all know that and plan on staying.. I think it would hurt their NFL stock if they transfers cause if they do no telling where they would end up on the team they goto or even seee playing time..

We'll be hiring a whole new coaching staff after this season so won't they be learning a whole new system anyway if they stay...

You're way more optimistic than I am if you haven't already accepted Matt Luke as our HC for the next 3-4 years.
ESPN loves him and has fellated him pretty hard during both games so far. If we don't keep him then we're gonna get ripped even worse than we have been.

Eh, no one is watching ESPN in the first place.

Being practical, we will get another bowl ban, scholarship reductions, probation, etc. This will be just like USCw.

Once we get embarrassed by all the decent teams we play I think the media will back off Luke
