Are the rumblings of him being interest in USF job true?

If it is, I wish he would have left yesterday so we could have gotten Bruce

The interesting thing is all Kennedy said was it is all speculation and rumor at this point. He didn't really deny it which is interesting and didn't make a statement that sounded like he was sure he was gonna be coaching here.

I want to see what he can do with a new arena.

Pearl wouldn't have come here regardless.

M. White is the replacement if he goes. I don't think it would be a big step step down.

Would love for this to happen eventually.
ETA: Don't want to step into the "Kennedy is good/bad" fray, just hope he is next, whenever that time comes.

It wouldn't be the worst thing for him to leave like this.
If he does leave, Michael White would be a great hire, but I think we should at least feel out Ben Howland. He will say no, but make him say it.

Will he coach better with a new arena?

I'm not holding on hope to the new arena theory. Auburn built a bad arse arena and look where they have been since. Pearl is a game changer there though.

Part of me wants thinks that Pearl is a game changer. But I really don't know...SEC basketball is just so terrible right now.
I mean this is Frank Martin's resume before he goes to South Carolina. Now he is 9-27 in the SEC. Slightly better than the dud we hired from Clemson with zero head coaching experience.
2007–08 Kansas State 21–12 10–6 3rd NCAA Second Round
2008–09 Kansas State 22–12 9–7 T–4th NIT Second Round
2009–10 Kansas State 29–8 11–5 T–2nd NCAA Elite Eight
2010–11 Kansas State 23–11 10–6 T–3rd NCAA Third Round
2011–12 Kansas State 22–11 10–8 5th NCAA Third Round
Granted Pearl has actual SEC success, but Auburn is a pretty bad situation to step into.

I wouldn't want Kennedy to leave but with what Michael White has done in his career I would love the hire.He was great here as an assistant coach and player.

A key figure in the recruiting arena, White has helped Ole Miss haul in some of the best signing classes in program history during his tenure. The incoming class in his first season back was ranked as high as third in college basketball by recruiting publications, while two recent classes have both been rated top 25 in the country. Working with the Rebel backcourt, he helped Terrico White adjust to the starting point guard role en route to 2009 SEC Freshman of the Year and Freshman All-America accolades. He has also tutored All-SEC guards Clarence Sanders, Todd Abernethy, David Huertas, and most recently, Chris Warren. A four-year starter at the point himself, Michael White helped captain the Rebels to national prominence in the late 1990s and returned to the program as an assistant coach on June 16, 2004. Playing for the Rebels from 1995-99, he entered the starting lineup in the eighth game of his freshman season and missed only one start at the point the remainder of his four years in Oxford. Over that span, the 6-foot-1, 180-pound floor general helped guide Ole Miss to one of the most successful stints in the program's history, earning consecutive SEC Western Division titles, three straight NCAA Tournament berths and the Rebels' first ever Tournament win in 1999. White led the squad in assists all four years and ranks sixth in school history with 370 career dimes. He was a two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection and a member of the 1999 SEC Good Works Team.

True. I look at it as Pearl is a much bigger personality and that bodes well with recruiting. Plus he's a really good coach and it appears that Auburn has committed to making basketball good.

Pearl is a basketball version of Les Miles.

Yes, he did.

I don't think Kennedy is going anywhere.Looking at next years team he has a chance to get back in the NCAA Tournament compared to rebuilding at USF.We aren't firing Kennedy a year after winning the SEC Tournament. As long as we aren't terrible next year Kennedy will get another year.I think Kennedy might flirt with USF to try and get a raise but that's it.It's the same thing two years ago with UAB.

Ole Miss and MSU may have the chance to make disappointing basketball hires at the same time.

Frank Martin is a pretty big personality.
Basketball recruiting is all about the cash money. If Auburn boosters play ball, Pearl can make them a force. If not, he'll struggle like Frank Martin has.
