Trump making the rounds today in Louisiana, but you'd hardly know he was down there according to the major news sources. Instead their main story is about some douche lying swimmer smh

I'm sure if and when obama and or hillary make it down 24/7 live front page coverage will occur.

yea yea, poli board, but echo chamber there. want this boards input

eta yes I'm upset at obama playing golf and their general lack of attention

News now is all about being "sexy" and sadly natural disasters are not. Olympic swimmers lying about getting robbed while the government of another country tries to seize their passport is "sexy" news. It's stupid, but that's how I believe they are thinking when they decide what to show. It's the same reason politicians don't focus on things that matter (infrastructure is the perfect example). If it isn't sexy, they don't want to talk about it because they think people don't care as much.

honest opinion is that Obama and Hillary don't think they're going to win LA so it didn't matter till Trump (who is going to win LA anyways) decided to go down there. Political or not, it's egg on Hillary's face.

Trump has become a different person this week. Offering an apology, using a teleprompter, toning rhetoric down a bit. makes for a different election cycle.

Remember all the crap Bush got for flying over LA after Katrina?

Media and black leaders are clearly biased. But we already knew that Where are all the "Chocolate City" speeches and outcrys for racial justice?

Trump's owning it this week.

This is the part that pisses me off. If the POTUS thinks he can best aid the situation by sending the DHS director, that's his call. I'm in no position to say either way - but to treat Obama differently than Bush, well that just shows the intellectual dishonesty of the mainstream media.

some drunk lady being saved =/= the entire flood. guess I was wrong about people caring about the drunk lady.

also in regards to an insensitive thread I started then asked for it to be deleted, because I know heartbreak and or wade will bring it up. sorry for hurting peoples feelings with that thread. didn't realize how serious the flooding was. the thread was in jest, but it was too soon and people weren't in a joking mood.

It'll always be too soon. I remember the thread and you're a frickin arse for starting it.

And it didn't hurt feelings you frick. It pissed people off because it was ignorant. Take your backhanded apology and shove it up your arse you frickin meathead piece of shite

The people mostly dealing with the disaster don't really need the federal government coming in and messing shite up. They weren't waiting for the feds to save them, neighbors are helping neighbors rescuing and now tearing things up. Its taken probably 2-3 days of work but my parents have managed to gut the house. They didn't need some politicians words or empty shite like shilliary would have to offer.

Trump at least made donations.

The media especially Shep Smith can suck a cock.

It also pissed me off more to read stupid article titles that said LA begs for Obama to come down. I found that more insulting to the people of south LA than anything else. No one is begging for shite.

Man I'm sorry your parents had to go through that. That's terrible. Thoughts and prayers. Hopefully they get back on their feet quickly with the help from the community.

Yea and I didn't post in those

I wasn't going to bring up you being a piece of shite until you tried to get out in front of it with your backhanded apology

I bet you wouldn't say that shite to my face would you? If you did you can rest assured I'd slap the frick out of you

Thanks, the good news is all of my family and friends made it out safe. Also everyone had shelter to go to so they didn't get stuck in the mass shelters. My parents had flood insurance so all of that is taken care of. I actually think BR will recover quicker than most places. Almost everyone that I know has been busting arse the last few days trying to gut everything and get it ready for now dry wall and floors.

I was thinking it but didn't want to ask. frickin great to hear they had flood insurance. That's the elephant in the room in all of these discussions.

Yea the insurance will help big time in getting stuff back on the right track. They didn't have much time but they got alot of stuff up off the floor. The furniture had no shot though, appliances all will have to be replaced, wood floor and carpet will have to come up.

The water was about 3-4 inches from taking my LSU national title posters.

I feel like the combination of donations and local people putting in so much work might help mitigate some of the ones that didn't have flood insurance.

thanks tbird. My mom and sister made it out before the vehicles could get flooded in. I did have aunts and uncles that had to be rescued by boat. I had a friend that had to be rescued by boat with her kids. My buddy sent her to her parents house because he thought it wouldn't flood and he wasn't sure about his house. It turned out his house just barely didn't flood but his father in laws flooded.
