Worst Movie in a Beloved Franchise?

Even the best movie franchises stub their toe sometimes. Which movie from an otherwise great franchise do you think is the worst?
Personally, I can't decide between The Godfather Part III or The Phantom Menace.

none will ever compare to what was once in contention for best trilogies of all time. Until they went and made a 4th one, which shall remain nameless, but should be pretty obvious. If you need a hint though, the protagonists survive a fricking NUCLEAR BLAST by standing in an old fridge whose door seems to be ajar anyway.

Oh yeah, I somehow forgot the abomination that was Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Words fail me on how much I hate that movie.

Jaws the Revenge is the crappiest sequel in a string of crappy sequels.
The shark somehow gets wind that Brody's wife is going to the Bahamas so it swims there at breakneck speed and waits on her plane to arrive.
In the climax of the movie, the shark is bobbing up and down towards her sailboat while growling like Godzilla. She carefully aims the boat at the shark and with impeccable timing, impales him with the front of the boat.
I'm guessing that Michael Caine still wakes up in a cold sweat thinking about being in that crapfest.

I get that the prequels were shite compared to the original trilogy, but I feel like everyone shits on them more than they deserve.

Jaws the Revenge was awful. But the worst franchise movie ever made, is also the worst movie ever made......Troll 2.

This. The first Jaws was fricking great and should have just stopped there. Definitely should have stopped after the 2nd one.

I didn't think the fourth Indiana Jones movie was that bad? Maybe I should watch it again (only saw it once) but I remember it being decent
