Why is Finebaum on both B'ham sports radio stations?

Visiting family in the area this week, driving around yesterday afternoon. Finebaum was on both 94.5 and 100.5. What exactly is the point of that? Seems like something might draw listeners like me who hate Finebaum.

Same owner for both stations and they know nobody will compete with Finebaum in Bham.
I really wish the Roundtable was on in the afternoon. I miss listening to Bham-centric discussions on the ride home to work.

roundtable was badass. Infinity times better than finebuam and better than opening drive too.

I'll never forget Snowmageddon last year when the Roundtable guys were giving everyone updates and people were calling in about how everyone was stranded & where people should go. Then at 2:00 it cuts to Finebaum (who was in NC by that time) and was interviewing with Spurrier for 30 minutes. Kind of sums it up for me.
I know I post on a CFB board, but I don't live, breathe , sleep college football. Too bad that it is basically all Finebaum talks about. The Roundtable has the perfect mix.

There was a competing show. I can't remember the name, but I listened to it just so I didn't have to listen to Finebaum.

Finebaum on two stations in the same city is the most Alabama thing I've heard all day.

IIRC, JOX wanted to air Finebaum, but they were required to be an ESPN affiliate, and they had just switched to CBS Sports. So they are able to air the show as long as they also own a ESPN Radio affiliate, which 100.5 is.

But why? Owned by same people, why not have more ears on one station then competition on the other? Makes no sense really.

Spot on. Finebaum was such a great show in the earlier days when it was only on Birmingham stations and maybe a few statewide affiliates here and there. At one time he even played Randy Newman's "Birmingham" at the beginning of every show.

It really is stupid. Not like it would hurt to have an alternative that would only siphon away a handful of listeners.

Yeah, Finebaum was great 10-15 years ago. His show wasn't always SEC Football or even sports related. I remember he would have dedicated shows to politics. He was really a positive force for some things in the city & state. The wacko callers were more of the comedy relief than the standard. Now he's become a troll that rides the waves of public opinion and has unfortunately become the face of the SEC.

The local ESPN affiliate here in B.R. dropped his program several mths ago & there has not been one complaint. And local sports talk shows here are blah to horrible, so his show was beat out by below average competition. Speaks volumes.

Because he runs shite like a boss.

Now that makes sense. B'ham is his original stomping ground. He cannot get beat out by someone from national show or some local guys in his home turf.
One thing I will miss about Auburn is Sportscall.
