Missouri is not Deep South the way most SEC teams/schools/fan bases are, St Louis and Kansas City are not Southern cities, y'all do BBQ different than we do BBQ, you call coke "pop", etc
Being a part of the SEC is very much so a brotherhood in that we love to beat the shite out of each other but will defend one another from everyone (and everything, see: floods and tornadoes) else if need be. Mizzou is still so new and different that y'all are more akin to the step brother we never wanted. The whole SJW incident didn't exactly do you any favors either.

what these so called "southern" folks don't realize is that over time they've lost their southerness to transplanted northerners looking for a better climate, while the real south has shifted to (or, rather, never left) Missouri and Kentucky.
Missouri and Kentucky are more "southern" than any other southern state.
General Lee would favor Missouri and Kentucky over any state in the union if he were to time travel to 2016.

This is so true...and one of the reasons other conferences hate us so damn much. They do not understand why we beat the shite out of each other and shite talk each other but circle the wagons when outsiders try to do it.
