And why do I have to look at them during commercials? It's really gross.

I had the impression that India and SE Asian countries had more of a prevalence of cleft palates than African countries.

They won't have them long. I'm sure America will send an arse load of doctors over there to fix 'em up for free while we have ppl over here that are American citizens in desperate need of the same procedure but can't afford it.

Have literally never seen a single cleft palate here in America in person. Cleft palates aren't really welcome by the white privileged so we don't allow our kids to have them.

Did y'all weed them out, like eugenics? If so, that explains the dearth of them here. Cool.

Is there a way to allow them to have cleft palates but placing a one-deficiency maximum on what you can be on my tv asking for money for?

You can be on my commercials because you're poor and ask for my money. You can be be hungry and get a commercial. You can have a jacked up cleft (?) and get a commercial. For God sakes though don't come at me with all three at the same time. Pick a horse and ride it. One-deficiency maximum!

Interestingly one of my friends that is have Filipino just had a baby born with a cleft palate.

I think we just fix them here at a younger age.

Babies born with Cleft palate are routinely fixed shortly after birth in this country. Not so much in other countries due to lack of available medical and surgical resources.

Kids are kids. Nobody should have to live life with such a reparable defect.

It was found that blacks had a significantly higher (p=.005) rate of associated birth defects compared to whites.

I don't really like the sample size, but still...

Africa has the highest rate of population increase on earth. I'm sure that's why we see so many examples of this birth defect and others.
