How do you feel about kennels

My dog stays in our fenced in one acre yard, and has never been on a chain. I don't understand how someone locks their dog in one of those kennels all day while they're at work. It seems more cruel than chaining a dog up or having a dog pin in the yard to me.

My husky weighs 140 pounds and is taller than me when he stands up on his back legs

My friend liberated a similar size (in stature only, he was malnourished) Husky from a cage that was only twice his length. In the monitoring period of three months, he had never been out of it. Never bathed or brushed. Never had any interaction other than receiving food and water sporadically. He had heart worms because he didn't receive any preventive medicine.

It was obvious that he was being used as a "guard dog." The irony was that when he was released and taken away he acted like a puppy. A very grateful puppy.
