Who annointed Al Sharpton the voice of the black community?

Why is he the only one who ever gets TV time / attention from the media? There has got to be more qualified black leaders who would do a better job than Al. Every single time I hear of some controversial event involving black people / race conflict he is there with a microphone in his face. I know the black community is not a consensus hive mind that makes big group decisions like this, it just stikes me as odd that he is consistently the one who gets air time.

Al Sharpton is like that itch you get between your balls in public. You know if you scratch it everyone will think you're a disgusting slob. So you gently rub your legs together as you walk to soothe the itch. However, Al scratches the shite out of it because he's a POS.

Those guys essentially blackmail companies. We had a local guy who was our "reverend" version of Al Sharpton and he was on the payroll with the local school district because otherwise he'd cause all kinds of hell. I imagine it's that way with Sharpton on a national level.

Sharpton is the equivalent of the Westboro Baptist Church. He makes money by making a shite ton of noise, and then profiting off the results.
