And I'm gonna state the obvious, a polo is any short sleeved collared shirt, not just Ralph Lauren. At least that's how we looked at it.

Ralph Lauren
Aeropostale
Abercrombie & Fitch
American Eagle
Vineyard Vines
Lacoste
Brooks Brothers
Old Navy
Hollister
Southern Shirt Co.
Southern Proper

I'm sure I'm missing more...

Looking back, I was pretty much a Ralph Lauren douche with American Eagle and Lacoste mixed in. That was our style for North Alabama in the early to mid 2000s. I had a couple Vineyard Vines I'd pull out for beach trips too. The money I made my mom pour into shirts I grew out of is astounding, and quite sad.

All we had in the 80's were Ralph Lauren and Izod(the OG Lacoste) I think. Those are at least the only ones I remember.

I had both, mostly Izod.

This.

I got polo shirts for my birthday, Christmas or before the school year began. Usually one at a time. Maybe 2 if I was real lucky. They were usually bought on sale and were Polo. They were all purpose and expected to be worn to school, church, dates, etc.

I may have gotten asked what color I liked one time.

I never had to depend on the shirt I was wearing to help me slay pussy.

And get off my lawn.

Polo brand, duh. Granted, that was before Vineyard Vines was around and the plethora of "fratty southern brands". I prefer VV polos now, they fit me the best.

I didn't wear polos as a teenager. Basically just a constant rotation of punk concert t's.

I did alright though.

It was Gant shirts, Gold Cup socks, Canterbury belts, and Weejuns when I was a teen. Polos hadn't been invented.

I wore Abercrombie and worked there. Goodness, that was a fantastic job. It was amazing I got paid to do it.
