Yes.
Affirmative Action - The long running Case against the University of Texas
Obamacare Birth Control Mandate - A spin off from the Hobby Lobby case
Abortion - Texas has requirements similar to the ones under challenge in Alabama. Doctors must have admitting privileges, etc.
Immigration - Texas again, challenging the administration's enforcement choices.
All are big cases and likely to be 4-4 ties.

I hope this will energize Dems as well to come out and vote. In general, Democrats have a strong showing in Presidential elections. Hopefully, the Dems can re-take control over the Senate. Don't think they have a chance in the House.
The bigger question is how Republican senators and representatives run their races. Are they anti Trump or pro-Trump?
IMO, the only real impact the presidential race will have on senate control is if one party sees greatly increased turnout. Otherwise, it will come down to the candidates in the individual races. I don't think either Trump or HRC will have very long coat tails.
As far as Senate control goes, the Republicans have far more seats to defend this time around, but most of them are in safely R areas. The D's need to flip 5 to gain outright control but there are only six or seven races that look to be truly competitive and one of those is held by a Democrat (Nevada, Harry Reid's seat). To win control, they must hold onto that seat and then win virtually all the others. Possible? Yes? Likely, not really.

Just like the previous elections.

I'll be doing anything besides voting in November. Tired of voting against people and not doing that anymore. Neither, I trust or feel will do what they claim they will. Hillary should be in jail, and Trump is a white Obama. Saying whatever he has to, to get votes, ego off the charts and vindictive. There will be no change with him in office and even worse with Hillary. Let the country burn and reap what it deserves for giving us these choices.

I wouldn't make it in a normal year, but this isn't a normal year. Consider:
There's a very strong anti-establishment sentiment running.
The R voters have just lived through 8 years of BHO, with the last 4 due in great part to the fact that they didn't come out for the "Northeastern Mormon".
Most R voters hate HRC - possibly more than they hate Obama.
Scalia's dead. Ginsburg's probably dead, but nobody's bothered to check her pulse lately, and Breyer and Kennedy are both nearly 80. The next president may appoint as many as 4 SCOTUS justices. The R voters know what that will mean for things like Heller if HRC makes those appointments. They're not going to stay home with that on the line.

Like what? If he gets wages up, I don't think anyone will care if he supports gay marriage or whatever. I don't even know what his social stances are. Who cares? Can he get the economy booming? That's all that matters.

What specifically don't you like about Trump? I think he'll make a solid president with the right VP.

Like the dems won't waste trillions of dollars. Lets give people with who don't work free cell phones and pay for their health care and abortions instead.

My fear is the fix has been in for the Ds all along because many if not all of the primaries Trump won were open primaries. The closed primaries were all won by Cruz (that I can tell at least). Its hard to find a definitive source that shows a consolidated listing of which states were open and which states were closed. My fear is liberal votes were pushed into the open primaries to make sure Trump won and therefore the left has picked the candidate they wanted to run against in the GE. Now they'll slither back to vote for HRC.
Posted on 5/6/16 at 7:56 pm to Brick67
No, most of Cruz's wins were caucus types. He won very few primaries either open or closed.
You might have a point if the Dems didn't have a competitive race, but they do. Trump is getting people out that don't usually vote in either primary.

It "appears" the Dems have a competitive race but that's a perception they've created--its theater. Look at how their system is setup to all but ensure HRC is the candidate no matter how well BS does. So they're not worried about their race, its in the bag and has been since before they started.

Just curious, how much does an abortion cost?
