For

Because I think minorities are smart enough to obtain a FREE photo ID.

I think it's incredibly racist to think otherwise

NO, I will not remain silent while you and your ilk practice the soft bigotry of low expectations.

You just had to drag this rubbish upstairs didn't you?

Oh, and I'm "for," for the record.

I'm on the fence on this.

If election integrity is the goal, start with accurate voter rolls first.

Me and my ilk?

To answer the question, I'm against all the current Voter ID laws being pushed, but I'm not totally against the idea of requiring an ID to vote.

I'd rather they focus their efforts on eliminating election fraud committed within both parties, than voter fraud. I don't think in-person voter fraud is as rampant as Republicans want us to believe. It's just a zero sum game with no benefit to the person committing the crime.

For it. I can't vote unless I show my ID. Is this a state law or parish law?

for it. if you're not responsible enough to go get a damned ID, you're not responsible enough to vote. The "discrimination" line is a bunch of bullshite. People who use it are the same people who think illegals should be able to vote.

Then it should be no big deal to take an extra measure to ensure ballot box integrity.

its not like there are millions of them doing it, but when you literally have national elections coming down to individual votes, its a big problem

Agreed, but I don't think any of the current Voter ID laws being pushed(at least the ones I've read) do that effectively. I think they have ulterior motives, and that is to keep voters that traditionally vote Democratic away from the polls.

The only type of voter fraud that a photo ID would prevent is in-person voter impersonation. This type of voter fraud is pretty much non-existent, and has never meaningfully impacted any election in history.

if it was a conspiracy to keep certain people away from the polls, Im sure it would involve something more sinister, like making people take some kind of test before being eligible to vote...
