True, but the angle of the windows relative to the seating still is very low. Maybe it's just perception.

B29 was fricking luxury compared to a B17. That pressurized cabin must have been nice for the fellas.

airline pilots dont need to be able to even see out of the windows except for take off and most landings (some landings are done via autopilot at near 0 visibility) the concorde would raise its nose for supersonic flight and cover up most of the windscreen.

The B-29 also had remotely controlled gun turrets that operated from internal stations.
