Here is the real question. WTF did Assad use NBC weapons now? He's about got the war won and he goes and pulls this frick up. I don't get the play.,..,

It is pretty crazy that Assad did use chemical weapons again. Really a dumb move.

[Tinfoil hat]What if this is a play to make it look like Putin and Trump are not buddies[/tinfoil hat]

This may have been discussed ITT and I may be completely off by this but didn't they say that we contacted the Russians to let them know about the attack before hand?

Who is saying this? It may be true but I'd like to see where it is coming from.

You let Russia know for 2 reasons:
1) You don't want to start WW3 and let them know the fight is not with them, it is with Assad for gassing his civilians.

or

2) It is a play at something bigger and we are working covertly with Russia.

Which one is more logical?

Edit: We did let Russia know and Russia did not use ground to air missiles that could have stopped the cruise missiles. So they at least weren't actively trying to stop them.

Yes, of course we told them. As far as the Russians trying to shoot them down, the odds of them successfully engaging ANY of them with a land based system is incredibly low and there is no way they could bag more than a couple.

We let them know mainly for the reason of them being able to get their people away from the location or at least that is what I read.

Other guy is right, those tomahawks are next to impossible to stop.

the funny thing is when Obama was still president, his people, Kerry, Rice, etc were bragging about how he got Syria to get rid of their chemical weapons.
