I'm expecting an all around miserable experience, but I'm low on options.

Anyone here ridden a Greyhound?

I've never done it. Maybe the stigma against it is so bad that it's scared people off so you might be fine. I have no idea. I'm guessing you don't have a car?

I have a car, but my wife and 3 week old are in Alabama... so to get back to nashville, we really need two parents in the car.

I was expecting to fly into ATL on friday afternoon, but my travel got cancelled (work related).

I did it in college. Expect to take twice as long to get to the same place and the typical clientele.

Tbh, my biggest fear is getting there later than shown... if it's reasonably on time, I don't give a sh*t how bad the experience is...

no, but i have ridden a bunch of Continental Trailways, a long time ago.. it's not too bad,, just keep in mind when going from here to there, it's gonna stop pretty much everywhere that has a bus station,,, so trips get long, real long.

They get lost too. But it averages out to about twice what it would take a normal person to drive.

Be prepared to deal with a lot of smokers. I know people get annoyed with that.

I fear for this country if a bus driver gets lost on drive from Nashville to Birmingham ....there's only one stop (huntstville).

fuk it, I think i'm going to do it... says i'll get there a little after 8:00pm... nothing bad happens on a fri night in downtown bham, right?

Rode one from Louisville to Tampa once when I was in my early 20s. By myself. Interesting yet completely terrifying at the same time. And I had the pleasure of riding the last leg of my trip when they had the terrorist attacks on public transport in London.

I sat close to the security guy at Atlanta's greyhound stop.

This, assuming the experience hasn't changed much over the past 35 years...

Is there a train from Nashville to Birmingham? That's how I'd do it. You can take your own beverages onboard.

When I bought the #WhiteWhale last year, I had to take a Greyhound from Lawton, Oklahoma, to Tallahassee, Florida. 24 hour trip. One of the stops was Bham.

Didn't have too bad of an experience overall, tbh. Some shady folks out there--actually a LOT of shady folks--but some really amiable ones, too. I just kept to myself/slept most of the time, though.

Use Megabus. It will probably be cheaper and has wifi.

You serious Clark?

The bus station is in North Birmingham and isn't far from where the tranny hookers hang out.

Agreed. Do they run between Nashville & Birmingham? My mother and daughter have taken it from Mobile to Atlanta a few times and have had decent experiences.

I rode Greyhound about 30 years ago - it wasn't too bad. I'm sure I'd be miserable today.
