Excuse me while I steal the idea from the Boston thread.
Will be there from June 4-9 visiting a friend. Will probably be by myself on the 5th and 8th While he works. Any one now of places to see/check out? The only thing we really have set in stone is hiking up Cowles Mtn. He lives at the base of it.

One of the 4 top spots for breweries.

Gaslamp in the downtown district is fantastic. One of my favorite downtown areas in the US.

Hitting them up breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I land there right at 5 PM. We're heading straight for food and beer.

I'd probably never leave the Ballast Point brewery if I ever went to SD.

Sounds like you got it all figured out to me.

Gas Lamp/Petco Park
Coronado Island
La Jolla Shores
If you're going to hit breweries check out the new Stone World Bistro at Liberty Station.
LINK
The cool thing about Stone, is they serve tons of different beer, not just their own. It's easy to get a feel for all the different San Diego brews there.
It is cool here at night in June, and it will be cloudy and cool every morning, so bring a sweatshirt or a jacket.
There is so much to do here, you'll have no problem filling those days out.

Thanks. I plan on seeing La Jolla or Coronado by myself if I don't go with my friend. Any good places to grab a drink on the beach?

I'm a huge hockey fan. Would it be worth it to go to Anaheim for the Stanley Cup Finals?

1. Go out to Cabrillo National Monument. Take a picnic. Great view of the city.
2. Zoo. World famous
3. Go eat lunch at Point Loma Seafood.
4. Enjoy the weather. So many outdoor activities. Hiking, biking, beautiful parks(although with the drought this may be less so)
5. Have a drink at the Hotel Del Coronado or eat Sunday brunch there.
6. Go to a Padres game if they are in town and you like baseball. Stadium is right on the Bay and near Gaslamp district.
7. Go to George's in La Jolla to eat, but sit outside. It's a lovely view.
8. Old Town is kind of fun. I like the Mexican food at the Coyote Cafe.

Get loaded and go on a harbor tour and check out all the ships and coranado.
Definitely gaslamp!
Old town is okay but like a poster said above the food is great.

if you go in july / august del mar race course is probably for my money the best horse racing scene in the country. girls in skirts and binikis and shite walking around at the race track with world class racing. you can't beat it. and it's on the ocean basically

Bums.
But still some cool spots.
Raglan Public House has good food and a good beer selection.
Coronado Beach at The Hotel Del is my favorite beach.

1) Padres game... Petco is one of the nicest parks in MLB.
2) Gaslamp Quarter.
3) SD Zoo is awesome.
4) Breweries... Stone, Ballast Point, Lost Abbey, Green Flash... Lots of good ones in the area.
5) Check out one (or more) of the museums in Balboa Park.
6) Check out La Jolla... When you do, rent some gear and go snorkeling with the sea lions. The water will be cold as always.
