there were also actual eye witnesses to the brown shooting, i'm not sure any were more credible than the folks who only heard the zimmerman incident.

Which was conveniently corroborated by the physical evidence. Granted, Zimmerman is turning out to be a POS, but the jury's decision in that case, based upon the evidence, was correct.

The problem with this entire case was the charge. They went for a homerun instead of going with common sense and taking a double. The case was a classic case of negligent homicide but the public pressure made it a murder trial. Had he been charged with negligent homicide He should have never gotten out of his vehicle and therefor his actions directly lead to the altercation. That being said, if you go by the testimony and physical evidence then you can't convict for murder. The prosecution fricked this one up.
The fact that the media basically portrayed him as a white male was bullshite from the start.

Manslaughter was on the table and the jury was instructed they could convict him of same. But I agree with your assessment, and I'll add that the police botched the investigation from day one.

Yeah there was alot of wrongs commited and a person died because of it. He was certainly guilty of negligent homicide. It's always a shame when the media gets involved becuase I think in normal circumstances he probably does at least a good 5 year prison stint.
