Pretty pictures that mean nothing to you but are in fact the harbinger of doom.

Actually, you do. The whole country does. You rely far too heavily on several of our resources to lose us.

We don't rely on Texas oil. It's there so we use it, but to act like we depend on it is being disingenuous. Mexico could annex Texas and no one would give a shite.

Can you assholes stop whipping your cock out and focus on the fact this could be a comparable event to April of 2011? This thread is for fear mongering, wish casting, and dispensing actual useful information. K. Thx.

If I'm not mistaken, Texas alone accounts for over one-third of total U.S. crude oil production. That's kind of a big deal.

Of the 40% of our oil that we domestically produce, nearly 25% of it comes from Texas. 40% of the total oil refining takes place in Texas. Without us, say hello to $6+ gas.

We are by far the nation's largest producer of cotton, producing more than 46 other states combined. We are also the leading producer of cereal grass and produce 10%of the nations total agricultural products.

We are home to two of the nations five largest military facilities and more active service men and women are in Texas at any given time than anywhere else in the country.

We are the leading state for defense contracting and the second leading for computer technologies. We also produce the second most healthcare workers through our education system.

Our annual GDP is the second highest in the country, the highest per capita and larger than 156 of the countries on earth.

We run this shite.

Sounds like it could be nicer if it was 10-15 degrees cooler...
