Just enjoyed a tomater samwich, white bread and mayo, and corn on cob. Was fresh picked Slocomb tomato and fresh picked silver queen. Damn! Will have to repeat tonight.

All I know is that my family and I have been eating silver queen for decades and it's always the most delicious imo. Literally is good raw, though would probably upset stomach if a full ear. That's how I test it when hand harvesting from garden...break off an ear, pull back the husk and take a bite:)

Yeah. I was wrong. Turns out I was thinking silver King. If you ever see silver King on sale, don't waste your money. It was terrible.

Mater sandwich threads usually devolve into Dukes vs Blue Plate very quickly, usually on the first page.

I say Blue Plate.
Wife says Dukes.

So we use Dukes.

IMO, it's the finest corn on the planet. It makes the finest of fine creamed corn.

I enjoy taking a salt shaker with me to pick the maters too.

Duke's is the only mayo I'll use. The rest are garbage.

I have always been a Blue Plate man but I tried Dukes once and it is just as good. A little more vinegary maybe? Something about it gives it a bit more tang than Blue Plate. So we use both. It wasn't always easy to find Dukes in Mississippi but now it is just about every store. I will also second what Deltaland and others have said. You cannot eat a tomato without salt and pepper.
