Wonder what this a-hole thought would happen when he stopped his car and brandished a handgun in the middle of a high speed chase with the police?

How long until Al and Jesse show up?
Posted on 3/15/15 at 12:39 pm to Tantal
Betcha "Rent a Riot" Al is flying there now. He'll spin up a bunch a people to chant about how the "Police violated his right", get a bunch of donations to fund his lavish lifestyle....I mean his organization and then jet off to his mansion!

He totally thought he'd get away
Suicide by police isn't even a thing that's been attempted before

I think he was shot a total of 3 times and crawled up to that house in the various videos where the police finally convinced the rocket scientist to surrender.

Why are LA patrol cops always such piss poor shots?
Someone pulls that stunt down here - he goes down on the spot by rifle and shotgun fire, not pistol fire from 70 yards away.
Why are LA cops such dorks?
The moment he comes out of that ride brandishing ... three officers are coming out of their front seats and taking bead on him with 7.62 ARs and another two are coming at him with Cruisers loaded with buckshot and he's down almost instantly.
There was a lesson learned here some years ago about high speed chases and not playing around with bad guys ... where is that video .... ::::: long pause ::::::
Yep, here you go ... ten years ago. This changed everything in SC and now this incident, along with the complete video compiled from several different dash cams, is used as a training video all over the country:

Red neck white boys do-not-play ... not the good ones or the bad ones, once the shootin' starts.

I think Californians are still just pisses in general. I carry my personally-owned AR-15 on duty. We use 5.56 instead of 7.62 due to overpenetration concerns in our urban environment though. We've developed and different mindset and training methods now. If a call sounds like it may involve gun-play, we come out of the car with a rifle.

We were using 5.56 here for awhile but everyone is going to LEO fragmentation stuff now like the Hornady LE with mags loaded for barrier penetration and mags loaded for soft targets and indoor/MOUT operations.
We went through 1000 rds of TAP Urban 7.62 last October and it was impressive. Big time wound channels, explosive cavity expansion yet total fragmentation once it hits something hard - even bone or sheet rock.
I've got the spec sheets downloaded on all of the new line of Hornady LEO stuff somewhere ... hold on. Here you go, check this out straight from the Hornady site this is the exact same spec sheet they were handing-out to us last year when I was still teaching the rifle course.
My HD/PD 716 is loaded with the TAP Urban .... but I do have a couple of marked mags with GMX Heavy Barrier for barrier penetration.

As much as I love 5.56 ARs, and no doubt I'll go back to it one day as I keep getting older and am not as strong as I used to be, I still grab for the 716s, I've got two ... I've just always loved x51. Got a couple of M1As as well but they are not appropriate for LEO use coming-out-of a front seat in situations like we're talking about, for obvious reasons.
But the 716 ...

The frangible bullets are nice in MOUT situations where you are worried about collateral damage and incidental green-on-greens. Even better for room clearing is a trench gun with buckshot or a flèchete round from the old M-79 (loved those but somebody decided the M-203 was better).
Man I am sort of missing the tactics. Between this conversation and the story on 60 Minutes tonight, I am more jacked up than a coke head with a kilo of Columbian bang-bang.

There's no doubt that the 7.62 is a superior cartridge, but we've got multiple issues to deal with. First, we have some lady cops and small statured dudes that probably couldn't handle .308 very well. Secondly, there's the money issue. The department is fully invested in the 5.56 AR platform and it would be extremely expensive to replace all of the rifles, mags, and ammo. I'm not sweating it though. I can get my point across well enough with a 5.56. We're issued 2 mags full of Lawman 55-grain soft points. I also carry a mag of Hornady TAP and 2 mags of Israeli M855/SS 10 in my bad should I need it. It's a violation of department policy, but I can always ask for forgiveness later if I ever have to use it.

My HK has never been out of the trunk for anything other than a few random warrants. I'm certainly not going to carry the fricker loose in my car. To each his own though. My Sig will do just fine.

This I do support though.

MP-5 I assume?
Best weapon I ever carried while in the Jarines. Had an MP-5S and the S kept the barrel from rising if you let off a long extended pull!

It doesn't just float around loose. It stands up in a locking rack between the front seats. There's a button on the control panel for the lights, siren, and opticom to release it. I'm sure that your Sig will do just fine....out to about 40 yards. After that, it's a crap shoot as to whether you can hit anything.
