I am thinking this is a bad idea. Some perv is going to go in there, and then some little girl's dad is going to end up in jail for the rest of his life after he goes Punisher on him. Stupid.

My daughter is 12. If she ever tells me that some dude was trying to watch her while she was using the bathroom, that guy wouldn't walk out of that store.

What's to stop a very masculane man from walking into the woman's restroom? What's the vetting out process like on those claiming to be female gender? Will a scout's honor do?

That's just the point. This ruling is specifically aimed at allowing that.
As a man, all you have to do is say that you identify as female.

I don't think a lot of people understand gender identity disorder (GID). People with this condition have been using the bathrooms that sync with their gender identity for many years.
If a man wants to rape a woman or a child, he's going to find a way. Public restrooms are not ideal locations because of the possibility of someone coming in or responding to the victims' screams.
Outlawing transgender people from restrooms will only cause those who identify as female to be beaten up in men's restrooms and those who id as men to have the police called on them when they go into women's restrooms.

Just add a third bathroom and be done with it. Doubt there will be a herd of transgenders at any given time. Label it generic just in case another subset arrives on the scene.

What about existing buildings that only have two bathrooms and don't have the space/money to build a third?

To me, if you have dude parts, you are a dude. Girl parts, you're a girl. Someone with dude parts isn't getting to play on the high school girl's basketball team and shower with them cause he says he isn't attracted to girls.

This country has completely lost all ability to use common sense and rational reasoning skills.
We allow people to feel different than they are, and now we have issues like this. Just crazy.

Or for the 1-2 minutes it takes to go into the bathroom and do your business, you could go to the bathroom of your actual identity, do your business and leave. Wouldn't that work?

Definitely not. There are no recent epidemiological studies to provide data on prevalence of gender identity disorder, but the numbers are tiny.
Data from smaller countries in Europe with access to total population statistics and referrals suggest that roughly 1 per 30,000 adult males and 1 per 100,000 adult females seek sex reassignment surgery. We can expect that the numbers of people who are born with GID are equally small.
A conclusion from this data is that these laws that are being passed or considered around the country are a solution looking for a problem.
