I just got a new one. I can't remember the brand off the top of my head. I would try several different masks till you find one you can comfortably sleep with.
I tried the one that went over my nose and mouth completely, like a breathing mask, and it rubbed my nose bad.
I switched to the one that goes over your head and directly into your nostrils (nasal pillows), and it works great.
Takes a little getting used to, but I had horrible sleep apnea and after getting used to it, it's wonderful. Can't sleep without it.

Also get a humidifier as well. Best of luck.

Edit: My new one is a Resmed, it's smaller and thinner than my original one. My original one is a Remstar Plus. Had it for 13 years.
I also have a Respironics portable one. It's easier to travel with, but my new one might be smaller overall than the travel one. I've had the travel one about 5 years.

Been on one for 15 years... Would never leave home without it... New technology is all about size...
Once you get used to it.... You will never realize how truly magical it is for your health....

Had one for a couple weeks now. I feel so much better. Mine was a genetic condition. Get the new Phillips dream machine. It hasn't negatively affected my sleep much and the benefits far outweigh the negatives.

I did my sleep study last night -- or at least tried to. It was a disaster. I could handle all of the wires and tubes except the stuff up my nose. Drove me crazy. It took me 2 hours to get to sleep.

Then, as soon as I got to sleep I rolled over onto my side. And my EKG leeds popped off. So, she woke me up to reattach them. This happened 5 times between 10:30 and 1:45 am. So, she told me I couldn't sleep on my side anymore (no shite, bitch). So I lay on my back from 1:45 until 3:15. Couldn't go to sleep so I stood up, pulled all the wires off, and got dressed.

Bitch came in the room and handed me a bunch of paperwork and said I couldn't leave until I filled it all out. I told her to get fricked, and drove home.

Was so mad I couldn't get to sleep even when I got home.

Yeah one thing I miss is being able to sleep on my side.

Ask if you can do a sleep study at home. They shipped me my machine and I just shipped it back when I was done. Results are shared digitally. I think it helped having it done at home.

Can you not sleep on your side with a CPAP? If not, I'm out.

You can but it's uncomfortable at least with my machine. If you lay on your side you're laying on one side of the plastic tubing which leads to your nose. I didn't like my face being on the plastic.
