I have a Bammer story.
I had to make a trip to Tulsa and back this week, which required driving down the Cherokee Turnpike, which has only one toll plaza along its entire length.
Being a conscientious human, and not a regular on the tollways in Oklahoma with a pike pass, I go to my bank and get a roll of quarters the day before.
So I'm approaching this toll plaza, and there are two options for cash-paying customers. I have exact change, so I enter the left-side "EXACT CHANGE" side when I see the huge overhead "EXACT CHANGE" sign over the lane, a good 1/2 mile before the actual toll-booth.
People needing change are going to the right, where it is marked "Change/Receipts".
This guy pulls up in front of me just before we get to the tollbooth. He is driving a truck, Bama plates, pulling a trailer with some kind of hot-tub/fiberglass tank on it. I wait, expecting any second he'll throw in the correct change and get on. I wait.... After a good 45 seconds, he emerges from his truck, and does the old 'I'll look for change on the ground around the change receptacle' bit. I wait... He does that for 15-20 seconds. Then he goes back to his truck, scrounges around for another 15-20 seconds, then walks over to the back side of the tollbooth which has a person in it, serving the other lane. He starts knocking on the back glass of this tollbooth. I wait. Cars are passing by in the Change/Receipt line at a rate of one per 15-20 seconds. He knocks again. I wait..
He sees a break in the traffic, and finally goes over to the front of the tollbooth and gets change. He goes and throws the change into the change receptacle. This is about 4 minutes into the ordeal. He jumps into his truck and starts to scoot forward, now realizing that the light at the change receptacle has turned red again, because it is designed to receive the change as you are pulled up next to it in your car.
He waits. I wait... Another 30 seconds or so. Finally, he gasses it and accelerates out of my way. This motherfricker only set me back maybe 5 minutes. 5 minutes sitting still at a tollbooth is a long time, esecially when I have been ready for this toll booth not only from the 2 miles back when the first sign appears, but 18 hours before, when I spent 2 minutes going to my bank drive-thru to get a roll of quarters like a normal decent human being.

Fair to middlin'. Mostly the latter without the better half around but I'm making it.

Just curious. Your initials aren't T.B. by any chance?

Well toll roads aren't a thing in Arkansas, but they are all over Oklahoma and Texas so we at least know they are coming and have used them for most of our lives.
I actually felt bad for the guy. I waved at him as I passed by him a minute later, because I'm a decent person. He did look like he felt bad about the whole thing.
In Dallas, I've seen people do the old "look for lost change near the receptacle" thing and then turn around and flip you off, just because you happen to be waiting behind them. Most, if not all, DFW toll roads now just scan your plates and mail you a bill after you accumulate enough charges.
The Indians haven't gotten there yet. Their roads are nice, though.

Yeah.. I just got out of my cast Monday. A little PT and should be good to go again come springtime. And hopefully a better judge of my speed and height at the end.
eta - depending on the type of canopy one has, they can travel up to around 25 mph or so. Some faster if they're into fast flying competitions.

Yeah, he went to art school and shite, but couldn't make it.
To be honest though,it looks like he used a lot of mechanical aids in his work, more like a draftsman than an artist.
But WTF does that have to do with this thread?
