Why they hell would y'all even hang confederate flags in Missouri? Missouri fought for the Union.
Edit: Nevermind, apparently y'all joined and fought for both. You even had delegates st both Congresses. Strange, imo

The 12th star on the confederate battle flag represents Missouri. Kentucky joined soon after with a dual government and is represented by the 13th star.

Branson sells more confederate memorabilia than any other town I've ever been to, by far.

Missouri and Kentucky never seceded though. The other two slave states that didn't secede were Maryland and Delaware.

Not according to the Union, but both states passed ordinances of secession and the confederate government recognized both states as members of the CSA as evidenced by the participation of Missouri and Kentucky representatives in the confederate government. Maryland and Delaware however stayed firmly in the Union.

Further proof that you arse clowns in The South have zero clue about your own history.
Hell, most of you are confused about what the war was about.
Not shocking, hardly anyone knows what the American Revolution was about.
Bottom line -- most people are stupid as frick.

Not really. It was about state rights. Slavery was a state right. It was also not illegal for states to secede from the Union. The Union and Lincoln didn't give two shits about slaves. It was all a money game. They also refused to let states trade their own goods with different countries. That was another issue.

The Wilson's Creek Battle in 1861 was the first major battle west of the Mississippi.
I knew nothing about it until I was in college at SMS and visited the battlefield.
Apparently it turned many in MO that were apathetic to the south into folks that were much more sympathetic to the plight of the confederacy.
In fact, the house I grew up in, in East Central MO was supposedly a Confederate farm home, in the midst of Union townsfolk. That's according to the old farmers that were my neighbors when I was a kid.
Anyway, no one flys that flag in Missouri except rednecks and white supremacist tards. History is lost on everyone of those types, I guarantee it.
Suddenly, they have all become Civil War buffs.
It doesn't mean the same thing in Missouri as it does in Tennessee, or any other southern state for that matter.

I don't see what the big issue is, seeing as they took down the flag on their own.

All of this is true.

Those are the only people who fly it in any other state as well.

But what about the people that don't fly it for those reasons?

Not surprised. MO is full of a bunch of Germans and we all know what they are all about...

I don't know a single person who flies it period. I don't hang out with rednecks, white trash, and white supremacists though.

Nor do I. I know people who put it up at tailgates as a symbol of where they are from and the black people that are part of setting up one of the tailgates have supported it for 3 years now.
I'm just saying I don't like the blanket statement of "Anyone who flies that flag is a racist, redneck, bigoted a-hole". Because it's far from the truth.

Well, you live in Mississippi. Maybe normal people fly it there. That would be the only place though... because Mississippi.

I'll admit, Mississippi is weird like that.
