Just picked up a pack at Winn Dixie in south AL., and just finished first bottle. Nice beer, a good change up from IPAs. Any beer drinker still clinging to Buds and Millers, get off that horse piss and try a craft, you'll never go back.

Dales Pale Ale ftw.

And yes a barner owns Oskar Blues; I know.

It was good this year. Hope they collaborate with Mahr's Brau again.

Dale's Pale Ale was one of my introductions to craft. Nice, reliable brew.

Still waiting for the Oskar Blues beer in my avi to hit the shelves down here. One of my absolute favorites and I'll dance a jig the minute I come across it.

I read up on this year's edition and what you allude to makes sense, i.e. good this year, but seems last year's edition was not well received. I did not know that S.N. changed formula for Oktoberfest every year. Have you tried S.N. fall variety 12 pack that's been out a few weeks? I thought the Tumbler was superb, was my first time trying a brown ale.

They collaborated with a different German brewery. Last year was Brauhaus Riegle. It was much better than the 14 version, IMO.

Yes! In fact, it's been the only way I've been able to get the Tumbler down here for quite some time. I think they only package it in the variety packs now, which is a damn shame.

For a brown I consider quintessential, find yourself a pint of Sam Smith's nut brown. Pretty common. Give you a good idea of what a brown should taste like.

Don't be that guy. Sierra Nevada is a craft beer, one of the biggest obviously, but still craft. My favorite? No, but it's a 1000 times better than mass produced beer.
