Really long but interesting as hell! Some parts talk about him having parties in prison with prostitutes and his favorite inmates with filet mignon and lobster bisque. Also mentions him loving fine dining and his henchman would hold up a restaurant while he ate then kindly pay the tab and leave into the night
ETA: after his first escape 71 prison employees were arrested including the warden

It's crazy what money and death threats can make people do... Can't say I blame the prison workers

Agreed. I'm quite sure the conversation goes in the direction of take this money, have some fun, or watch us rape your family, skin them alive and set them on fire.

Very interesting read. Mexico is just a joke. Side note - now I know why limes have gotten more expensive. Screw the cartels. You don't mess with my vodka tonics!

Da chapo is gone. He was only in prison because he chose to be for a short time. His capture was because he agreed to it. He decided it was time to leave, so he left. Probably because extradition was in the works behind the scenes.
He will not ever be captured again either because he won't allow it due to the U.S.

I wonder why he had to use a tunnel? Sounds like he could have just walked out the front door.

That was his last escape. His first escape (I think) he got rolled out in a laundry bin so he basically did just stroll out ha

Chapo owns the border and has thousands of goons right here. He's way bigger than Escobar IMO.

If they find him he should be shot. This guy can't be contained unless you put him in a supermax prison in the US

Pretty much, yeah.

He just seems bigger cause its in our backyard. Pablo was worth 10-20X more than Chapo if you include inflation. Talked about this on another board. Pablo killed a presidential canidate and his "prison" was to be on house arrest on his compound, which he came and went as he pleased.
Until very recently, all the cartels were doing was middle manning dope. Pablo was a producer and what he did in the 70's and 80's with coke, nobody has come close to.

I understand that social media makes the gruesome shite chapo's organization does more accessible as well, but I don't know. This guy isn't sone yet.

From a brutality stabndpoint, I see the comparison. But it's been said that Pablo's operation would have been a Fortune 500 company in the US and that he supplied nearly 80% of the world's cocaine.
Forbes says he was worth $25 billion.

The difference is Guzman gives no fricks, Pablo was careful who he fricked with outside of Columbia. Guzman doesn't think he is touchable, he will mess around and kill or try to kill the wrong person and the U.S. will ruin his day.
