I generally have a pulse on most N. African/Mid East countries but not w/ Syria. Are we arming/funding these "rebels" aka Jihadist? Who currently is in control of the war? Have we used drones?

I've never enjoyed the concept of Hell, but people like that sincerely make me hope it exists. Nothing we can do to a person in this life is punishment enough for something so horrendous.

I was actually talking to a family friend about this not long ago - he's a retired Lt. Col who spent a lot of time in that part of the world. He was saying we just don't know who to support, because they're both awful. And if we just stay out of it, we create a power vacuum for Iran and Russia to step into. The one thing the old USSR lacked is a warm-water port, and he believes Putin is watching all this Middle East unrest very closely, because they'd love to get their hands on one. Putting a puppet government in Syria is a step closer. And if they get a warm-water port in that part of the world, they could possibly cut off our oil supply.
What's going on in Syria is scary. It's almost a given that no matter who comes out of this on top - they're not going to be friendly to the US, even if we supply them now. The only sure ally we have over there is Israel.

I highly suggest you read the Quran, and learn about the type of person Mohammed(Christian equivalent to Jesus) was. You'll also figure out why "moderate" Muslims aren't coming out in droves protesting against the "radicals", as well as learn about Sharia law.
Anyways, anyone know who has the edge in their war, and the extent of our involvement? I've read many mixed reports.....
