Should citizens on the terrorist watch list be able to legally buy guns?

I don't know. Leaning towards no. Although the thought of the government just being able to put you on a list and automatically taking away your constitutional rights is pretty terrifying.

If you're on a terrorist watch list then you shouldn't be able to fly or buy a gun. If you don't like it, leave

How did the person get on this list? I think that would be the key.

I don't think a non-citizen should be able to buy a gun. I don't think a citizen should lose that right for something stupid, like voicing an unpopular opinion etc...,but if they are on a watch list, then fricking WATCH THEM!

We have A Constitution that gives us rights, it has to be respected, but also have to be wary of people that may try some shite.

Welllllll considering that the government puts people it can't actually prove anything against on the terrorist watch list I'm torn on this issue. You do realize that they have perfectly normal law abiding patriotic citizens on this list just because they are friends with groups the government deems to be bad, not actual members of these groups just people that they know.

That's my issue. The apparent fact that this list supersededs the US Constitution is more than a little scary. I understand the need for security obviously, but the precedent this creates is concerning. But like I said, I'm leaning towards no.

If they're on the watch list why would they need to legally buy guns? Rule of law wouldn't matter much would it?

I'm considered a known associate of a particular group the government defines as a terrorist group and while I can't buy firearms as it is, it does piss me off that I have to jump thru some hoops to fly. Btw this group is full of veterans who have served their country with honor and distinction, yet they are considered terrorist by their government. SYLB

You trust the government that much?

My God! They had Ted Kennedy on the no fly list.

Have you people forgotten?

The Kenyan Muslim in the White House and his crew claim that White, Christian males are America's biggest terrorist threat.

Clubs are considered terrorist but Black Panthers and NAACP are not.

All the clubs need to stop the warfare and adopt an 'us against them' mentality towards the Feds. The Feds feed and thrive on clubs at war. When a brother from one club kills one from another club, they rejoice.

True, I'm not a member, although I could be, the problem is it's turned into something much different than it started out as and while the large majority of members aren't criminals, there are criminals in the ranks and they want the power so I never see it being what it once was. It's still bullshite that they are on the list.

No, I'm a retired FFL.

But there should be a due process procedure that is timely.

Absolutely they should, and if it ever happens that some law or resolution is passed that prevents them, I hope it is struck down as unconstitutional immediately.

Real terrorists aren't going to be acquiring their guns through the legal channels. All this is going to do is prevent the good guys from arming themselves.

Only if they're going to use them on themselves. Also under no circumstances should terrorists be able to buy any Schweppes.

Non-citizens should not be able to buy guns while inside the U.S.
