If someone is putting on an event that its sole purpose is to degrade a religion and people are really surprised something like this happened? Did yall really think this would go on without a hitch? I'm not supporting what these two guys did in any way, but frick these people for putting this together in the first place.

First... I kinda agree that it was dumb to hold something like this. I said "hey, fvck the Muslims here, but the idea was asking for it" and I got lambasted in the OTL. I mean I think it's the equivalent of putting up a sign that says "Won't bake cake for gays," and then being surprised when I get sued for it. So I get your opinion.
On the other hand, Go stick your dick in a blender. Go look up piss Christ. Nobody got hurt over that.

2. no rights were violated, except those trying to kill US citizens.

If something like that happened today, I don't think it would go over so well. I don't think anyone would get shot, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a physical altercation. I think society has changed a lot since 1987. People are a lot more sensitive these days. Hell, people get mad because stores say "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas". I'm certainly not being a bigot or ignorant. I'm not saying 50 Christians would show up with Uzis, but there's always bound to be one nutjob around. Just like in Garland, 50 Muslims didn't show up, just two, but that's all it took.

Yeah, believe it or not, I'm always surprised when people react to stupid (yes, the contest was stupid, like a lot of anti-Christian stuff that goes on) stuff like this with violent, murderous intent. That's not normal, and if we assumed that it was, that would be bigoted in and of itself.
