My cheating ex would only drop a story this obviously stupid, if she was trying to get out in front of something she thought I was going to find out about. There would always be several layers of deception from several different directions. Look through the layers.

Then I get a txt from my "S/O" ASKING ME TO CALL THIS CHICK TO SEE IF I COULD GET HER TO PAY HIM BACK BC SHE HAS IGNORED HIS ATTEMPTS AT HAVING HER PAY HIM BACK!!!!!!!!! WHAT in the frick

I'd give him $126 and tell him you two are through. Just tell him you know the real story, and aren't interested in discussing it further. You're almost certain to find out later as long as you keep quiet.

It'll be the most liberating $126 you ever spent.

it's the internet

the "woman" is probably a 400 pound dude sitting on his bed trying to scam people on twitter all day

Sounds like he's just stupid to me, and he didn't mention it before because he didn't think it was a big deal (because he actually thought he was helping your friend)

never date a man that $126 would make "desperate"

Never mind, you say things like "I would beat this bitch's arse". You've got to settle when you're trashy

Check around and see if any local hotel/motel has rooms for $126,tax included. That's just an odd amount to me.

You don't need a man.

You don't need a man you can't trust.

You don't need a man who asks you to deal with this woman.

He is a boy. Not a man

Something about it seems shady, but if he banged her he wouldn't have come to you to get the money back. He wouldn't want you anywhere near the situation. How dumb is he?

My wife would divorce me. And she would be right to do so. I would never think of loaning some other person, especially a chick I met on twitter, money without discussing it with her.

It looks shady because it is shady. He wanted to frick that girl. Plain and simple.

That $126 would go a long way towards getting a dog neutered.

He KNOWS all of my friends, y'all. Isn't it odd that he actually believed (I think he is using that as a flimsy excuse) she was a 'close friend' yet he has NEVER ONCE heard me mention this chick in any way, shape, form or fashion.

Eh, I've been with my S/O for 9 years now, and I'm still not very familiar with her very close friends from her hometown (grade school/high school types...the pre-Nino years). So it isn't incredibly far fetched in my mind for him to think someone might be closer to you than they actually are. But it does call into question his gullibility and intelligence
quote:

Also, the excuse she gave for needing the money was something to do with taking a test and a train trip to a work seminar. This girl is supposed to be a hospice nurse.
Has he wire transferred money to a Nigerian princess recently?
quote:

News flash...I am an ER/Trauma nurse. You NEVER take the NCLEX again unless your license has been revoked or it has been over either 5 or 6 yrs since you last practiced as a nurse. So that was bullshite. And if it was a work related seminar, why the frick take a train? And every Hospice Agency that I have ever dealt with in 15 yrs of being a nurse covers the cost of transportation to and from work related events such as a seminar. Another line of bullshite.
It's pretty obvious we're dealing with a dude that's slow on the uptake...so I can't fault him for not knowing all this, or researching it.
quote:

I believe, in my heart of hearts, that he was desperate to get that $ back and since he bought the 'close friend' line, thought she would listen to me not only bc of that, but bc he knew I would beat this bitch's arse like she has never been beaten before.
$126 is so important to him that he brought this world of shite on himself? That's concerning no matter how you look at it

So you're either dealing with a gullible dumbass, or a dude thats created an elaborate story to cover his arse for something he didn't need to be doing. I'm siding with the former. That said, you can do much better. He's given you a great way to get out of this relationship. From what little I know, seems like it's time to cut your losses

Good luck
