I blame post Civil War generations in The South for using this flag in the wrong ways out of their own ignorance and racist nature.

Those are the ones at fault.

Not hard to figure out when the flag became popular. Everybody down south knows why it was used at certain rally's in the 1950's-60's. We didn't see the flag at political rally's in the 1900's, didn't see the flag at political rally's during WWI or WWII, they didn't waive the confederate flag when people ran for governor in the 1940's. For some reason it became popular and near and dear to some people's heart during the 1950's and 1960's.

See your ignorance is showing again.

The flag was used to honor fallen Confederate soldiers and veterans soon after the war. It was added to Mississippi's state flag in the 1880s or 90s. That was the original purpose and use for the flag.

Hate groups like the KKK started using to to protest desegregation in the 50s and 60s and unfortunately they still use it and the skinheads have adopted it as well.

Why didn't south Carolina put it up in the 1920's, 1930's? Why wait til the civil rights movement. It was a big frick you to the feds for trying to force race mixing. Lets be honest. Older whites even admit why it was popular during the civil rights. Why did people waive the flag at black marchers while shouting hateful things? Why was the flag waived by angry white parents during school integration. Blacks are southerners too. Why didn't they waive american flags at blacks? All those whites weren't members of the klan or skinheads. All those white politicians that displayed the flag at a rally while saying no to race mixing aren't kkk members.

So to honor confederate veterans means to waive flag at blacks and say go back to Africa, no to race mixing. Not a good way to honor vets.

Your turn.lol.

They put it up to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Civil War, like I already said

Mmmhmmm. Not what some of your republican politicians are saying. People already admitted it was put up for states rights. Just like Georgia added it to their state flag in 1956. At least the guy in georgia admitted to why he designed their flag. States right and civil rights battle just happen to become even bigger issue around 100yr anniversary of civil war.

Well again like I said already, its not like the flag is still flying on top of the statehouse

And its not even the same flag that was flying over the statehouse. They made it square and bordered it in white

But this is all just more details you and other like you are unaware of and don't care about. You're told that the flag needs to come down so you parrot that the flag needs to come down without knowing anything

You honestly think this is the ONLY thing that people (both black and white) are focused on? A flag? Ok.

I don't see a problem with silencing ignorant redneck bigots. Some of us are trying to progress as a society instead of living in the past.

I think Germans in this country should fly the Nazi flag to remember their people that died during WWll. Put them up in 2039. Don't use the current flag...use the Nazi flag.

Its not the same.

Only members of the Nazi party wore the swastika with their military uniforms and Germany banned the symbol immediately following the war so it wasn't used to honor their fallen dead.

But like I've said repeatedly, you don't know what you're talking about.

Its a correct assumption to make on this issue and most issues, political or not. People are ignorant and like to talk out of their arse all the time.

And like I've pointed out repeatedly, it applies to this particular poster

So you don't think that when they put up the flag in Columbia there could've been some other ulterior motive behind it, other than the 100th anniversary of the Civil War?
