What are you working on? Outdoor projects, new or remodel?

Planned Vacations?

What do you do when it's nice out and the calendar is as far from football as it can be?

Six flags; that's about all a poor college student can afford

Projects:

(1) Re-do bathrooms and move washer & dryer into separate room. Add clawfoot tub and shower to one, new tile and 2 sink vanity in the other. Paint both.

(2) Rebuild fireplaces in 2 bedrooms that have begun to fall in (house built in 1907).

(3) Landscape and re-do drain in back yard. New patio.

(4) New gas range and refrigerator in kitchen. Replace all fixtures to update. Repair counter trim where new dog has jumped up and managed to make a mess of it. May just wait and get new counter tops-next year.

Vacations:

(1) Devils' River in South TX at end of May (smallmouth & largemouth fishing)

(2) Flattops, Colorado in July (trout fishing) (still working out details and may have to change to Buffalo River Wilderness in Arkansas due to logistics and time constraints).

(3) Napa in August (SO's trip)(just now trying to figure it all out and add a day of trout fishing in there somewhere-any help appreciated).

(4) Gregory, South Dakota in October (pheasant hunting).

Playa del Carmen at the end of the month. No kids. Gonna stay hammered drunk and plow Mrs. Tantal like a corn field for a week.

Buffalo River Wilderness in Arkansas

Float the wilderness section every fall, three days of zero civilization and good times.

Recently moved to the top of a mountain here in Fayetteville, great view but the driveway is a disaster because of the angle. That's my big project for the summer.

Got an overnight float trip on the Buffalo River planned too, we've been getting a ton of rain so it should be moving pretty well. We normally try to squeeze in a New Orleans trip or Gulf Shores in the dead of summer when it's really hot.

Replaced / added some floodlights and eve can lights today. Put 2 outlets under the eve so we can run rope lights.
Restained the deck 2 tone with wodden colored handrails and grey flooring / steps.

I have a concrete pad that the previous owner had for his camper. I want to use secondhand light poles and beams and add a Pavillion style cover with a shingled roof.

I recently told a senorita that my work was a vacation. I actually do something pretty exotic every weekend.

This week was bizarre museum week, took a girl to see Serial Killers, Vampires (they're in the same place) and Ripley's Believe It Or Not.

I want to go to Oaxaca this winter, though.

The beaches are almost abandoned, one of my students went there for his anniversary and took a bunch of pictures.

It's either that or Yucatan for seafood, haven't decided yet.

One of the best trips I've ever taken was to the Yucatan Peninsula, stayed in Meridia and went to all the different Mayan ruins there

I usually vacation somewhere the first week of college football. I get my fun in the sun and football in the same week.

I plan on hitting a few concerts over the summer. Gonna see Soundgarden in Atlanta July and Alice In Chains is playing a 2 night show in August at the Ryman here in Nashville. Tremonti's solo band is playing here the 19th.

Recently they've had some referendums to try and separate from the central Mexican government for sovereignty. I figure I better do it soon before I have to pass a checkpoint.
