Say your child has an opportunity to go to these schools.
Not to play sports. But he is a huge sports fan.

Texas A&M
Vandy
Florida
Georgia.

Rank them. Who ya got?

If you advise your child to go to a school because of their sports teams you are doing it wrong

never said I was. I was only saying he isn't going to be participating in any. But he is a sports fan. If this wasn't a sports board I wouldn't of even mentioned it.

One of those is head and shoulders above the others.

If you can't figure out which one that is, then I'd be surprised if your son got in

Vandy… assuming the financial situation is the same for all schools... how is this even a question?

My child, Texas A&M. A child, any of them are great. Probably go Vandy, A&M, Florida, Georgia. But also depends on a bunch of factors.

Vanderbilt. Their sports program may not be the best but they're in the SEC so they're going to see some good teams come to the campus.

If I had to rank from that list, I'd probably go:

Vandy
UGA
A&M
Florida

But there's a big gap in between 1&2 and 2&3

There are many academic programs / majors at UF that are vastly superior to Vandy. aTm has many as well. So, some of this depends on what field of study someone goes into. For the academic program I was in, Vandy isn't even in the discussion, at all. But for others, Vandy would be a strong consideration if not your ideal choice.

Vandy is the last place to go if you want to see high level athletics. You can potentially watch several national championship teams each year at UF, and just about every sport makes postseason / playoff status.

To get involved with the sports programs I'd say Vandy is top choice. The other athletic departments are difficult just to score internships or volunteer with. More opportunities at Vandy.

Plus, there is rampant academic fraud at "top tier" universities like the ivies, Stanford, Vandy, etc. There was an audit of a Harvard graduating class that found 75% graduated with honors. That means they are massively inflating grades. The big name universities are diplopma mills to get their graduates in high places and what better way than to insure they can say Harvard with Honors on a resume. Also they are huge SJW safe havens. This rubs a lot of people the wrong way. This category of institution also has mega bias politically, leaning left. This is also pissing off a lot of people as they feel they can't trust academia. Of all the institutions guilty of this however, I'd say Vandy is probably the most favorable of all of them.

The rest of the country is catching on to these things. It won't be long before big name academic universities and private universities are a liability on resumes. It is far smarter right now to have a child go to a respected university, not an elite one. The backlash is coming.

This is not a flame on Vandy, just a general statement based on things I see out there.

Vandy. They can go see UK when they're in town for cheap.
