Wtf? Bunny rabbits are good eatin at anytime not just for a crisis. Well, in the summer wild bunnies have worms.Im pretty sure cats are also tasty.
My nine year old daughter would hate me for ever if she read that.

During the evolution of humans, we branched away from other, mainly plant-eating primates some 6 million years ago. We have since assumed the mantle of apex predator on the planet.

As a species we eat what we want and that includes much meat. We don't have the big stomachs (well, most of us) of the apes because we eat plenty of meat and don't need to store large amounts of plants for digestion.

Also, and the reason we're at the top of the food chain, eating meat provided the necessary huge amounts of energy for evolution of our magnificent brains, the most complex structures in the Universe.

Ultimately, the line between animal rights and vegetarianism has to be determined culturally. Some Asian societies include dogs on the menu.

Some sub-continental Indian societies eschew the eating of most animals. They even worship some species.

The French have horses on the menu while a restaurant that offered equine dishes in Kentucky would be burned to the ground forthwith.

They're impressive, yes, but that is a bold claim.

Yeah, probably. How about this? The most complex structure in the Universe, that we know of.

If you really have an apocalyptic crisis, the horse will move to the top of the list. For most of human existence the horse was the primary partner to man

Racing = entertainment
Carriages / Saddle = travel
Knights / Calvary = military
Labor = construction and agricultural

A cat will not race
A bunny will never pull a carriage
A dog will never carry a man into battle
A cow can pull a plow and give milk, cow is way too low on that list

If the apocalypse cats will be the first in line to be eaten

I'm in Peru on VC. They serve guinea pigs in restaurants like it's fried chicken. If it tastes good then eat it. Someone has to help the Peruvian flute bands fend off the evil guinea pig menace.

Disclaimer: I did not and will not eat guinea pig. Guinea Pig is a disgusting animal. See pulp fiction.

I once visited my brother in Oson, near the Air Force Base there. As a birder I was interested in the wildlife of their parks and rural areas.

Well, there are no rural areas. South Korea is a country the size of New Jersey and has 45 million people.

That place is wall-to-wall people. They do have a few parks but they're tiny by our standards.

I took my cameras to one of their bigger parks expecting to see a few birds. Nothing.

More so, there wasn't wildlife of any kind. It was so devoid of sound that I could hear barking coming from a dog farm half a mile away.

All in all, it was one of my stranger experiences of observing humans.

Clearly this billboard does not appear in Louisiana, no possums, gators, river rats, snakes, and assorted wildlife.
If it go in the cook pot, you can eat it.
