Question re. Arkansas cities

I MAY have the opportunity to relocatae to Arkansas. My question is: are Ft Smith, Little Rock, Bentonville, and Fayetteville all good places to raise a family? All I'm really concerned about are good academics, good sports, and safety for my kids. Looking at the public school sites, Bentonville seems to be top notch, but the real estate seems higher than the other places. Is this a correct assumption, or am I off?
Any input from you who are in the know would be appreciated.

Are LR and Ft. Smith in play too? I think all of NWA (Ft Smith is not usually included in that) is a good place to live. Springdale is probably a little behind the other cities though.
West Little Rock feels just as safe as any of the nice parts of NWA. I don't know as much about Ft. Smith but it'd be my last choice of the towns you listed.

A friend of mine moved to Rogers in 1996 and became a real estate developer. He married a model, invented a device used in plane's black boxes, and is living a pretty pimp life there. He seems to like it.

I took NW out of the post. Looking at the map, I see where that's misleading.
where is Springdale?

F'ville area (nwa) is nice. Low crime rate, good development, growing, booming, etc.

Bentonville and Fayetteville are both good cities to raise a family. Bentonville is a little snootier because of all the billionaires, and Fayetteville is a funkier college town full of hippies and Subaru drivers.
I prefer Fayetteville, but Bentonville is more of a family town.

Between Fayetteville and Bentonville. It's where Tyson has their headquarters so the town has a much higher Latino population than the surrounding area. Many people refer to it as Los Springdales.

Springdale is just north of Fayetteville. Has a bigger minority presence (Hispanic and Pacific islanders). West side and Har-Ber are nice neighborhood and school. Tyson is headquartered there and also the Jones Center which is like a community center. I think it is free or charges a small fee now.

Springdale is home to the Auburn pipeline school of Shiloh Christian where Gus perfected his gimmicky offense

Thanks to all so far. Am I to assume Ft Smith is near the bottom of everyone's list?

Yes. Ft. Smith is way too close to Oklahoma for my liking.
Jk but...not really

Check out West Little Rock as mentioned above, and some of the surrounding cities like Conway and Bryant as well.

Idk about Ft Smith but WEST LR & the NWA metro are both nice.
Eta: Lived in the Cantrell heights in west LR for a few years. Very nice area and very close to Big Dam Bridge & has tons of Biking in the area. Also Pinnicle Mt. is a 20 min drive with good hiking & a good view of the river valley at the top. (Havent read thread so assuming NWA activities have been covered)

Grew up in the Fort. Boring as hell, very blue collar, but has good schools and kids activities. That said, would never move back.

It might be a bit higher around the square (downtown) but its really no higher than Fayetteville or Rogers. I live in Bella Vista and the home prices are a bit more affordable. It is 5-10 miles north of Bentonville and is a great place to raise kids(I have 2) and it is considered Bentonville school district if you live on the east side of hwy. 71 . Lots of walking-hiking trails/golf/fishing/tennis/pools/etc.
I work in Bentonville and it takes me 15 minutes to get to work.

West Little Rock is definitely comparable to F-Ville or Bentonville, plus you're closer to tGOAT War Memorial Stadium and top notch golf courses.

Yes it is. Also, if you live in West LR and drive a nice vehicle, we would probably allow you to pass through Sherwood without being stopped by the Scarewood Police.

Fayetteville, Bentonville, Rogers would be my picks.
I'd suggest Fayetteville, but for raising a family and excellent schools, Bentonville is better at this point. There is too much private and public investment going on there to ignore.
The Waltons are dropping a lot of money there right now, investing into expanding and developing the town square area. Anything in Bentonville, especially closer to the town square, is a great investment that will see a return over the years.
Fort Smith is much more working-class.
