The flooding there is record-setting. It's a disaster - seriously, not just a declared one. 1993 was considered the benchmark for flood disasters, and this one is worse. Some rivers are cresting several feet above 1993 levels, and the Mississippi is forecast to top 1993's 48.5 record at 50 feet when it crests in my hometown. It's bad, in Illinois as well. 14 people have died already, property damage is astronomical, and it's not close to over. Please keep the people fighting the floods in your prayers on this NYE.

Happy New Year, eFrands!

They've had to close sections of major highways that were flooded in order to sandbag and pump water out. Roads I drove on Tuesday are now closed due to water. It's bad all along the Mississippi. And the Ohio.

Yeah, I was having a pity party because of some water in my basement before hearing about what's happening in Missouri and neighboring states.

Y'all be safe and I hope this ends soon.

I live just inside Ark-Mo line. We got just over 10" of rain last weekend. Normally dry creek beds are still flowing. Been a crazy week.

Here in at louis you can hardly get from one part of the city to another. There's a video out there of an entire house swept off its foundation and floating down the meramec river

What kind of a-hole down votes the OP's post when talking about a situation in which people's lives are in danger and people could lose everything? I mean, I understand why you would down vote this post because I'm complaining about down voting in which case this post deserves to be down voted. You know what? I'm down voting this post when I'm finished.

Drove a semi through there yesterday. Was supposed to hit 55 then 44 south. Rerouted down 70. Lots of buildings were under water.

Finally free after being marooned since Tuesday. I damn near ran out of pizza and beer!

I never realized I was buying lakefront property when I moved to Eureka 4 years ago. The Big and Meramec had me totally cut off. Crazy!

Glad to hear you're safe. We actually hiked through woods with groceries to them to some friends who were stranded

No, pie in the sky crap is so empty and a crutch. Prayers? Why did God allow floofing in the first place?

My point is that fools say thoughts and prayers do nothing to stop guns.

My 4-inch rain gauge had to be emptied twice and filled up a third time by Monday afternoon. I know it is probably not support accurate, but that is a foot of reason over 3 days. I was manning a bucket to keep the water from filling up my basement window wells all Saturday night and Sunday as the water was overwhelming the drainage.

Sorry you feel that way

My prayers are heard and sometimes answered

I've seen miracles and seen prayer move mountains

God does listen

Prayers are more for the healing process. Jackass. Hope you get a terminal illness and have nothing else to keep your spirit up. Just wait to die because you are too stubborn to give into the fact that it's a way to help people get through shite that otherwise would just be a depressing and miserable existence. I'm sure some people do believe in miracles I guess. I dont, but I respect religion and I would fight for it even though I don't follow it.
